Does it have the same secret compartments next to the rear seat as the Gen 5 does?

Considering getting a gun, wouldn't mind having a nice safe place to store it.

wiki, yeah i had no idea about that cool screen the stingray has until i saw a video the other day, that is pretty sweet.
My wife's 2015 Malibu Premium has the hiding place behind the Nav screen and it's really handy. Concealed carry anybody?

Put something on the floor behind the front seat. .....you'll never see it.

Not to start a political debate but if you need to purchase a firearm do so before the sky is falling pricing starts. To me there are only two options for the camaro, glove box and trunk. Obliviously locked in the trunk in hard mount small footprint steel box is the best possible place but that can be inconvenient. One could hard mount the same type of steel box to the rear floor board but this might cause some interference with the seat moving all the way back depending on the size of the box. Personally I don't like the glove box even for storing a firearm for as little as 10 min as it would take a motivated person less than 30 seconds to pop it open and be gone. Glad I live in a state that has no problems with my Constitutional rights so I just conceal carry 99% of the time and eliminate leaving the gun in the car.

I do have a spare gun box, when I get back home on Thursday I will throw it in the rear pass floorboard and see what it looks like for room.

I too live in a gun friendly state, but to cary the gun on me 24/7 is just not something i grew up doing or wanting to do...

I just now started considering getting a gun for various reasons, one is to keep it in my car. But even in the event that I need it, I'm not sure my initial instinct would be to pull the gun out. I'm highly debating both sides of the coin. Having it in my car would have to be somewhere like the center dash. Glovebox IMO is too accessible to passengers, center is a bit more "private".

We will see.

Might check out Tuffy Product to see if they fit the bill. I use the Tuffy underseat lock box in my Jeep to keep a Glock 20 plus three mags and a holster 24/7

There are two options that might work in the Camaro:

Portable Safe

https://www.tuffyproducts.com/p-498-portable-safe.aspx

Universal underseat drawer

https://www.tuffyproducts.com/p-504-...ty-drawer.aspx

The drawer attaches by removing the front two seat bolts. Slide the drawer in and put the bolts back in . When I installed the one in my Jeep my next visit to the dealer I had them re torque the seat bolt with an impact wrench.

Only question is: Is there enough room under the front seat for this to fit. I don't have the car yet so I don't know.

Sorry didn't have a chance to check this until today. My avatar is my custom Les Baer Monolith with the 1 1/2" guarantee, not some crappy Sig lol. Sorry, I hate Sigs. I wasn't really asking about it for the purposes of a gun. If I'm carrying and driving, I keep the gun under my control at all times - meaning holstered. I'd carry a smaller gun when driving the Camaro...it would be too uncomfortable to carry a full sized .45 all the time.

It's funny you other guys mentioned the console. The ATS has the same face that pops open. I was wondering if other GM cars had it. I saw it on a friend's car and it's where my question originated from. I also have a friend who can build custom hidden and automated storage areas in vehicles and was considering it. I really don't want to add any extra weight to the car though. I'm just one of those people that likes to keep some emergency cash and essentials on hand for an emergency and likes good hiding spots. I was hoping it had the same center console area - being that it's on the same alpha platform or how many people knew about it.

BTW - that "Gino Torreto" seat someone posted is actually a stock feature of the Dodge Dart (back seat) from a couple years ago. I believe it was only include in one model year.

Glove box works and you can lock it with your key.

Yeah Les Baer are Premium, when I said Sig i meant signature, but really was talking about your Avatar and your Moniker was meant username.

Issue is also needing the gun VS convenience. If the gun is under lock and key while I'm driving, defeats the purpose of having it in the car. I need something that's unlocked and easier. The glovebox makes me un-easy just because it's such a universally used compartment by everyone.

i'll see what i can find.
