A fair comparison would not be current monthly sales, it should be the first six months the new refresh was released (since there were no huge incentives).

I notice the ones that are complaining about the price of the 2016 Camaro, actually have earlier models but spend most of their time on the Gen6 website. I think if you don't think the Gen6 is worth the money and you don't want to pay the price, why not just go to a website with the "better deals" you keep mentioning. The fact that you spend so much time here bashing the 2016, just shows that you really do want the car, but cannot pay the current asking price.

I didn't just compare my car to the Mustang, I actually purchased a 15 Mustang GT brand new with the premium package and performance (track) package. The front end was very floaty on acceleration and the hood shook vigorously at 100 mph. I sold the Mustang and bought the 2016 SS and am extremely happy with the Camaro. The point I'm trying to make is that so many of you are basing your purchase on the price comparison between two cars, but why purchase a cheaper car that you will not be happy with? It seems that you do know the Camaro is better and that's why you are not buying the car you are comparing it to, instead you are bashing the Camaro in hopes that it will bring down the price.
I agree. I had a 2014 GT500, so Ford invited me to a Track Attack to drive the new GT350 on the track. Its a nice car and it was way better on the track than my GT500. I liked the raw power of the GT500, but the car handled like crap and the rental car grade interior grew very tiring very fast.

I was think about getting a GT350, but what really bugged me was the lack of rev matching. I even confronted the Gt350 brand manager for Ford at the track event and asked him why no rev matching on a track focused car? He said "our customers don't want rev matching". What?? Seriously? If someone does not want to use rev matching, then turn it off!! DA!!!!

Having tracked cars with rev matching, I find it somewhat frustrating to go backwards. Sure, heel and toe is a great skill to master, but rev matching allows you to concentrate on better braking and turn in.

When I sat in the 2SS, the interior is what sold me on the car. Its far better looking than even the new GT350 interior, which was a step up from the GT500, but I still saw my GT500 interior in the GT350. No thanks. Hard plastic and dull styling gets really old.

Not where I live, you were lucky to get 500 off sticker on the first 6 months.

IMO, the 2016 1SS is arguably a nicer place to sit than the 2015 2SS.

Not here, they were at sticker for the first three months then you could buy GT prem's (recaro, heat/cool seats, nav/audio upfit etc) all day for $39k and that's why my wife waited for a camaro. Now the used market is flooded with 15's and you can't go 20 minutes without seeing a half dozen or more. Craziest deal I've seen lately is a 15 stage 3 roush with 1300 miles on it that stickered for $70,300. The price has been dropped twice already and is down to $53k. Won't lie, it's temping as hell.

A lot of the stuff you mentioned above comes on the 1SS:

The 1SS comes with a better driver information center (in my opinion). Aux gauges are basically built into that and are in your line of sight while driving rather than in the shifter area which does look cool, but is useless while driving.

1SS comes with Bose sound system, although not the uplevel one found on the 2SS. I'm not yet convinced that the 5th gen Boston Accoustics setup was better than the 1SS Bose setup, but I'm interested to hear other's opinions on this.

1SS comes with Sirius XM w/ 12 month subscription standard.

1SS comes with backup camera standard.

So that leaves two thing then that the 5th gen 2SS comes with that the 6th gen 1SS does not: Leather and HUD (let me know if I'm missing anything)

BUT, the 1SS now gets you a significant torque curve bump, heavy duty cooling package (aux radiators for engine coolant, engine oil cooler, trans oil cooler, diff oil cooler), Alpha chassis with less weight and better chassis dynamics. Let the road test #s speak for themselves as well as all of the reviewer's subjective feedback.

With that said, I really was hoping the 1SS would come in closer to $35k.

Pull out the standard RS package, and it would (not including destination of course), but in my opinion, 90% of buyers will want the RS package anyways.

I was thinking about all of this the other day when I was replying on this thread.

2015 2SS has leather/heated seats, HUD, door lighting (but not spectrum lighting), nicer door sills.......ummm.....that's about it, over the 2016 1SS.

OK...so what is the rest? Not much...if anything. I had the upgraded Boston Acoustic stereo in my 5th gen, and it wasn't much better than the standard system in my 1SS. The BA had a tad more bass response I think, but otherwise I feel they are comparable. At first I thought my 2016 1SS system was as good as the BA in my 5th gen, but now that I've got more seat time, I feel the BA was better....but again not by much at all. The new upgraded 2SS stereo is much better.

The current 1SS is not a bad place to be, but its nowhere near the current 2SS either.

I looked at Roush before I bought my Mustang, several things turned me away. First is that the Ford Racing/Supercharger voids your factory warranty, although you can buy an aftermarket warranty through Roush fior 1k. Secondly, you pay a premium price for Roush, but dealers won't give you a nickel over GT book value for a Roush. I feel if it kills your warranty and you can't get anything back from that premium price when you trade it in, it's not worth it unless you keep it until it dies

1) Inventory of gen6 Mustangs is two to one compared to Camaro (21,914 vs 9,100). Camaro's are not "piling up".
2) Camaro convertible and I4 are just starting to be available.
3) Chevy priced and contented the Camaro deliberately. They know their business model.
4) Just because options like MRC, NPP, 6-piston brakes, LPO wheels, etc. are available (and are not on the Mustang) does not mean you must select them.
5) My ordered 2SS will MSRP for ~$10k less than my ZL1 and will match or exceed it in nearly every way. Value
6) The 2016 Camaro outperforms the Mustang in every way.
7) Mustangs are getting discounted
