I bet 5% of 350 buyers will ever see a track. IMO 1/4 times are a good indication on how a car will perform on the street. GM could not sell those Z/28's for $75K either. Most V/8 sports cars in the $65K to $85k market have 12 and under 1/4 mile times. GM list 1/4 mile times on all Corvettes in their adds. There's not a single road test that doesn't test for acceleration times. Ford is one of the few companies that hype track only and refuses to quote acceleration times on their 350 because it's a dog and they know it. When the mags finally came out with the numbers I cancelled my 350 order @ MSRP . Got a 16 2SS and could not be more pleased and saved over $13K .

So I'm going to assume you've driven a GT350? Or are you just parroting whatever the magazines said about the GT350? And yes, I know you "ordered one but cancelled after you saw the quarter mile times".

And no, most "sports cars" in the $65,000-$85,000 range are not "sub 12 second" times, a few that come to mind are...The 2016 GT350, the Lexus RC F, The Porsche Cayman GTS, The Cayman GT4, the Alfa Romeo 4C, the Jaguar F Type...
They're all in the mid 12 second range in the 1/4 mile, yet no one bags on them because DRAG RACING ISN'T WHAT THEY ARE DESIGNED FOR. But I suppose they're all just dogs on the street and no fun, right? Because they're not banging out sub 12 second times on the drag strip, they must be just terrible driving around.

Show me people who drove the car and "weren't impressed". Every GT350 review I've seen has been glowing and fair.

if 1/4 mile times are an indication of how a car performs on the street my car must feel like a Bentley and I saved $250k

That's because they paid ADM'S and not likely to bitch when they spent $67K. Ask the 72% of 350 owners if they can track their car ????Those cars you listed are not V/8's except the F series V/8 is sub 12's. Yes I've driven one and not a fan of the no grunt under 4000rpm. Like I said it's just not my bag. Plus the Recaros were much tighter then my 13 Boss and could not live with them.
YES I would never own a Cayman ..its just not my thing. It's got to have a V/8 while I can still buy one.

Thing is im still in grad school and after i finish may end up investing in my business if i had to sell
First thing who is going to be paying for your car?
Who is going to be driving your car?
I assume you are going to be the one paying and driving
your car.
So get what you want and makes you happy.
Your friends can do there thing and you do your thing whatever rings your bell.
Choose wisely and enjoy the new CAMARO.

Those cars all have MSRP's between $65,000 and $85,000, not MSRP+ADM.

So you're now changing the parameters from "Sports cars between $65,000 and $85,000" to "V8 sports cars between $65,000 and $85,000"...which leaves...the Corvette and RC F (which isn't a sports car, it's a Grand Touring class car)

That basically just leaves the Corvette and GT350 (which also isn't a sports car)

It's funny, I had a 2013 Mustang GT Premium and was set on buying a Boss or the GT350. At the time, most of the GT350s I looked at were priced above MSRP, some as much as $5K. The Boss 302 was simply hard to find and when I did find one, the dealers would not let me test drive it without paying a deposit first. If I am going to spend that much on a car, I want to drive it first! Anyway, enter the Camaro 2SS... Drove it and loved it! Only advantage my Mustang has was a little better visibility and a much better stereo. Bought the 2SS and loving it.

So you get offered a GT350 at MSRP, but everyone else is paying an ADM? Well, not everyone is, and not just the non-R's, either. Be careful around here on what you state you have owned/owned in the past. If you can't "prove" it to certain people, you'll be called a liar.

So, you owned a Boss? Which position, up or down, were the slots on the block off plates for the side exhaust positioned from the factory? Surely, you removed them.

A dealer wanted you to pay a deposit on a used Boss before driving it? That's insane. Was it new at the time or was it used? I drove a used one the other day, no questions asked.

I know, the ZL1 is going to be on another planet, light years ahead in terms of every performance metric. If it's priced between $60 and $65, it will squeeze the heck out of gt350 ADM.

Hopefully, it does get rid of ADM's. However, the GT350 is a limited production car so I'm sure some dealers will still try to sell for a markup. I hope there's not a lot of ADM's for the ZL1. If there are, some buyers will probably cross shop a Hellcat. Don't think there's much ADM's left on those except maybe for the Charger Hellcats.

It was a 2013 with like 2000 miles on it. It also had three owners per the Carfax, go figure. Happy with the Camaro though!

I'm sorry for your loss, it is very hard losing a parent.

But.... I'm sure would your mother would want you to stay in her home and drive a Volt. A car that is very safe and economical and not a car like a ZL1 that might tempt you into some kind of bad behavior.

I bought plates on eBay with slightly larger holes because it was too loud with them out. Want to see my 05 Ford GT receipt also or my 14 C7 Z51...People on here know I've owned a lot of cars just don't bring it up that much. If I need to chime in and I've got first hand experience why not.
You should not go around calling people liars.
Pm them if you have any questions.
