I apologize in advance if this has already been addressed, but I did a quick search of the forum and was unable to locate any information.

Will GM be offering Recaro Seats as an upgrade in the 2017 6th gen yet, and if so a price (or best guess if you have one)? I know the 1LE has them standard, just wondering if we will be able to purchase them separately. Thanks guys and gals.

Exactly! Recaros in my opinion are not comfortable at all. The stock seats in my 2SS are awesome, and I have a bad back!

I think the Recaros would offer more Lateral support, but that usually means not comfortable for normal driving.
The 1LE is track focused and so are the seats.

I would like to try them out obviously, GM hit a home run with the SS seats, maybe they knocked it out of the park when designing the Recaros.

You could buy the 5th Gen Recaro's after they were released, I suspect these would be the same.

The seats in the SS are very good, I wouldnt want recaros over the stock seats. They offer plenty of support and comfort

I am in a bit of a dilemma, where I don't want to pay for the extra 5k for a 2SS, because the only thing I really want would be the leather seats. I am not a huge fan of cloth seats, so if I could get a 1SS and just upgrade the seats, I was hoping that would be a fair compromise.

Those of you with a 1SS, what is your take on the interior, especially the seats? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The Recaro seats when ordered as an option on 5th Gen Camaros were $2500. The same seats were $5000 when purchased over the counter.

With all due respect... Seats are VERY SUBJECTIVE... Depending on what you intend to do with the car.... And more importantly your height , weight, and body type.


I think anyone talking about seats should list those preconditions in their review.


Recaros Sportsers are amazing ( very close to these seats, they seem to be a mod PF them) and very comfortable for long drives which a lot of folks found surprising...

5'9" 190 lbs , in athletic shape. Upper body / shoulders fits a large golf shirt, size 34 waist.

I plan to DD and track the car.

Also the recaros are an option the v6 1LE, which almost certainly means that they will be an option at other trim levels.

The Recaros will fetch much more, just like on the Mustangs. They aren't as "comfy" since they actually support you when tracking. The stock SS seats are very nice, but are lacking support...different seats for different needs.
