I owned a '12 5.0 and while the Bosses' are a notch above, I'd get a SS just for the power train. The LT1 feels so strong down low compared to the Coyote. Plus, the interior is better in the 2SS than the prev gen Mustangs.

That's a good price for that Boss.

Due to the limited production run of the Boss..I suspect it'll always command a higher value than a 1LE. It was around for just 2 years (2012 and 2013) and then it was gone.

Stock for stock, a 1LE of the 5th Gen will easy match a Boss (stock) and a 6th Gen 1LE will pretty clearly decimate it (stock). That being said, once you enter into the aftermarket world the Boss becomes an insanely capable track car.

TL;DR: If you're wanting to keep it as a collectible, get the Boss. If you're wanting a performance car now without worrying about resale or value down the road, get the 1LE.
This: You should be able to find a low mileage Boss for mid 30s, I was shopping for them several months ago and this was the price range. While the Boss may not handle like a 6th Gen they are plenty fast and take to mods easily.

The way I look at buy a Boss now for mid 30s, in 2 years it will still be worth very close to that. Buy a 2016 SS for 45K+ and in 2 yrs it will be worth 30-32k.

Friends don't let Friends buy Mustangs.

Actually, my best friend has 4 Mustangs and this will be my 3rd Camaro and I do have a lot of respect for the Mustangs and their looks and capabilities. We both track our cars and his 302Boss Laguna Seca is a badass car on the track (I've ridden in it at RoadAmerica....)

It is a great car (as is his Shelby GT500) and he is now trying to find a new GT350R allocation but the dealers all want ADM's of $10K or more.

He has the same admiration and respect for the Camaros I own (and hope to own someday, like a Gen6 Z28 - c'mon Chevy get it built!!)

For most guys with Bowties in their blood, we will never own a Mustang. If you grew up driving Blue Ovals, you will never own a Camaro. And THAT is what makes life fun.

Buy what YOU want.

I drove a boss the other day and didn't like it. Not enough torque for me. I drove the boss first, then a 2015 scat pack, then a 2007 c6 z06, and finally a 2016 Camaro 2ss. The last three cars I liked because they just had so much more torque than the boss. At 4k the boss came alive but I'd rather have that down low torque.

do you think the new LE will be ok to drive daily also? I do love the way that car looks from A to Z its my measuring stick right now and on the track i bet will be amazing
GT350 is not 65k, more like 55k

add the R for your price of 65K

Sorry to hear this but good for you to treat yourself to something nice after such a tough situation. I can never understand people on here giving unsolicited finanacial advice when they know nothing about the person's situation.

I bought my car on a Monday night and my Dad passed the next morning. Picked the car up that Wednesday at the dealer and drove straight to the funeral home to make the arrangements with my sister. That was not how I planned my first drive in my SS to be... Enjoy whatever you choose!

Sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is never fun.

Not to sound like a get off my lawn old man, but it's still not the time to assume new debt though.

The more money you have to invest in your business, the MUCH better off you'll be. Pay off your loans (if work isn't paying for them) and get a solid footing after you finish your degree before thinking about dipping your feet into the instant gratification pool.

Take it from an almost 50 year old professional that's been there - done that. You don't want to have to ask others to fund any part your business if you want to do things your way.

It's good to treat oneself occasionally. Not denying that. However, he did mention some future plans. I've lived through my past.... and am hoping that others don't make the same mistake many (like I did) make... "I have money. I *have to* spend it, even though I'm have plans for a business." To me... knowing what I know now, that's insanity.

Wait for the 1LE, we are hoping for $42k too. At least wait for the official pricing on it.

Not if you add GM's Mag Ride to a the Ford Shelby. That 55 is for a base Shelby, apples to apples. 48,000 fully loaded 2SS with M6 vs 65,000 for the nicely equipped Shelby Mustang. If you can find a dealer who won't charge more than MSRP. Apples to Apples.
One of my really good friends sells fords and I could have gotten a really good deal on a Mustang. But I prefer the Camaro. At least for now.

not withstanding idiotic dealer markup...

A GT350 starts at $47,800, add track pack, which includes mag ride, you are at 55k.

not sure where u are getting your numbers, mine come from ford.com. that is fully loaded.

here is one from a dealer under msrp...and i see many.

http://golfmillford.com/mobile/New-2...IL/vd/33907644

$53100.00 with track pack and stripes.
