My friend bought a pair of iJDMtoy switchback led bulbs that were advertised as "built in no hyper flash" and they do actually work. The thing is they stay lit in white (like DRL) and then they flash amber when you turn the signals on. So not sure that is what you would really want. I have not seen a built in no hyper flash besides these. It was nice though for him not to have to cut into any wiring. They had to be powered separately though by tying into a fuse that would only give power when the car was on. His car had no DRLS though at all (Nissan Altima) so it essentially added DRLS but since our Camaros already have DRLS I am not sure it would look right with these on all the time.

Heres the link to the bulbs he got.

Did mine, had to add a resistor to both sides. easy. I just t-tapped them and and heat wrapped the wires. Nice and clean.

Here's a few pics i took of the lights on in hazard mode and off and locking the car. Left side is easy. right is kinda a pain because of the rubber shroud for the airbox. i used double sided tape to attach resistors. never had a issue using it to secure them. Did all this in about 40 min, had to redo them is why it took that long. wanted to change a few things in the way i mounted the first time. The pics of the bar with the holes in it is where i mounted the resistors, (underside) 1 pic is upsaide down, sorry cant seem to get it to upload the right way up.

kinda crazy these cars come with mechanical flasher relays rather than electronic. i'd just replace the turn signal relay.

I doubt most people around where I live even know their car has blinkers.

We have neither mechanical or electronic. It's done through the computer. The turn signal ticking noise comes through the front speaker. Been that way for alot of cars for awhile. My 2010 camaro was the same way.

If the relay wasn't mechanical, then you wouldn't need a resistor to regulate the blinkers.

Computer detects voltage pull. LEDs pull less, (hyper flashing) That why we still need resistors.open your doors while your blinker is on. Notice you don't hear the blinker click while the door open chime is going off? The last camaros to have mechanical relays for blinkers was 2002. We don't have relays for blinkers.

That doesn't make sense though. You would have to go out of your way and build a more complicated circuit to operate a relay that way electronically than just by a timer (which is how stand alone electronic flasher relays have worked for the last 15 years) . it doesn't make sense why they would do that unless it was mechanical and somehow cheaper.

Edit: haha. They put the relay in the bcm. That screams of bloating the repair bill for a device with a somewhat high rate of failure. It's not even pluggable. Nice GM.

There the same ones as the reverse lights. Edit...the link was no longer going to the correct product. Have no idea why.

Chris227...so you are using the white LEDs? Do they just blink white then?
