Simpson Chevrolet of Irvine stated that it would be 1 hr to 1.5 hours.

Sounds about right for a 15 minute job when you take it to a dealer.

I asked my dealer about it and they said I have to leave it with them for the day.

This is ridiculous for a sw update that takes 20 mins max. I am gonna try to make 1st morning apmnt with my dealer so I can wait.

Yeah I would never leave my car for the day for something simple like that. My dealer sometimes tries to pull that garbage with me, even after calling and making an appointment for a specific time. I just tell them no, I am waiting for it. They do it without question because they know that they scheduled me for a specific time. I will bring my in probably soon, just waiting for a few things at once to be done.

Same thing MacMulkin told me. I'm getting it done Thursday after work.

3hrs later, i just told the update says 30 minutes remaining.

Lol. Something is not right. My buddy just left the dealer, car was pulled in, and out of shop 40 mins total.

From the way my dealership and others seem to be handling this, the update is not done by thumb drive but downloaded fresh online, presumably over a 14.4k modem over bad telephone lines, each time they do the update. I'm 50 min into waiting at the moment

They need to to keep my car till monday for the update, sucks. The reasoning is the car has 4 updates to download.

I'd tell them to download the files and I'd be back on Monday. F that.. Holding the vehicle hostage for the weekend cuz their internet sucks

Edit: update took just shy of 2 hours.

Dont leave your S6 connected in android auto mode and leave it in the car. At least while it's still rocking lollipop. Caused mine to lock up with screen off. had to konami code a hard reset
