I guess it sounds ok but I grew up with small and big block V8s and the V6 just doesn't sound right. I hope I get used to it.

The LT1 motor is amazing. Stupid power and its pretty economical too if you want it to be. Im averaging 20mpg of highway and city driving. Just regular driving around a large city. I hit 29.9 on the highway on a 4 hour drive.

First video is NPP on a 2LT and the second is a muffler delete on a non-NPP car. Sounds pretty good.

City driving just ruins the driving experience. Agree that the V6 is plenty for a daily commuter.... If I lived in a rural community with good roads I'd definitely get the SS.

A Camaro is not a Camaro unless there's a V8 under the hood imo. If you want a car with 6 cylinders...please just go get a 370Z.

This and not sure if they are using the same 3.6L from last gen but that engin had a lot of issues.

Heh. I love mine, and I knew from the numbers I would, but it was confirmed a few nights ago...

Had the NPP exhaust in sport mode. Arrived home after dark, I could see a neighbor a few houses down silhouetted against his garage light. He was turning to go inside as I down shifted coming around the corner. He stopped, turned back and you could tell he was watching as the engine made that wonderful engine sound out the quad tipped exhaust.

Hey guys, thanks for all the input. A lot of good points on both sides, this car will be a DD and I'm trying to balance the added fun of the V8 versus the additional costs and potential legal risks of driving the SS, lol!

The V8 is definitely worth it. You can't go wrong either way though. If the finances permit, definitely go the V8 route. That being said, the V6 is fantastic option if you never see a track and are looking to save some money. If it's your commuter car and that's all you'll ever use it for, it's way more power than you'll ever need.

I finally saw another 6th gen yesterday in my neck of the woods and it happened to be a V6 with the NPP exhaust and DAMN if that thing didn't sound amazing in person.

Completely different engine. Completely.

What a stupid thing to say. I've owned 3 of the best GM sports cars for the normal people, a 2000 Formula, 2008 G8 GT and 2006 GTO. Yet, I got the V6 in the Camaro for the lease deal and I don't have any regrets after a month.

So, basically, only about 20% of ALL fifth generation Camaro's fit your definition of a Camaro. Interesting stat there isn't it.

Now, I will be getting a 1SS 1LE in a few years and didn't want to have to keep the rapidly aging GTO around for much longer. In stepped the 1LT V6. It is literally the perfect DD if you want a sports car. Has more than enough power to get you in trouble (very quickly) but not so much where you are in literal trouble from just stabbing the throttle.

It's a nw generation V6. I have the old one in my '15 Colorado, and it was used in many GM cars over the years. Mines perfect. Not aware of any real issues here, though the new one is undoubtedly better.. That said, Get the V8!

So you owned a catfish, a sports SEDAN, and a holden. Congrats man. I see little point in spending money on a v6 Camaro over a 370z is all.
