Not really a issue, just a annoying thing I see every day. Has anyone noticed how much the roof flexes when u shut the car doors? Never had a car that has done that much flexing. Guess that it's normal?

My roof doesn't flex when closing the doors. I'd say don't close them as hard.

No sunroof, I'll make a video tomorrow. My 5th gen didn't do it. Just seems like a flimsy piece of sheet metal up there. The whole roof flexes when the door shuts. Just seems odd to me.

If I had to hazard a guess at this point, I'd say... there's some of your weight savings: thinner sheet metal. You can see the aluminum hood on my 2015 Challenger flapping in the breeze at highway speeds. My 2009 never did that. So maybe this is something similar. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

I tend to agree, just rubs me wrong seeing it flex like that. Then again I was leaning on the rear quarter panel talking to a friend and I moved a little and the metal flexed inward. They don't make em as strong as they use too. Outside at least.

The roof is thin, I have a sun roof, and when I wash or detail top, you can see how thin it is. You can press it down very easily.

Yea, when i accidentally lean on my car, it flexes alot. Scares me when it happens.

I've seen the roof flex, too. At first I thought I was seeing things. My '13 1LE didn't do that... On some occasions when it's quiet out, I'll hear something, too. Hard to describe, but it comes from the roof skin or head liner.

If the roof is actually flexing, I wonder if metal fatigue might be a problem in the future...?

I agree with Mike. It's a downside of having a much lighter vehicle without making it ridiculously expensive by tossing a carbon fiber roof.

I am curious on how much flex you guys are also talking about it. For example: Does your roof shake when you close the door? Mine does NOT.

Yeah kind of odd... mine doesn't do it at all, and even when I detail the roof, which I do all the time, I do not feel nor see it move at all.
