A lot of them have already left the brand over since the last generation came out. They picked up the ATS and I know a few who got 1LE Camaros. The exodus from BMW performance cars will continue as they expand to more former Camry/Accord owners.
The M4 was also a manual.

Doh! I stand corrected on both. And Big Willow is over a half mile longer than Streets of Willow

yep so the 2017 1LE is probably in the high 1:20.3 - 1:20.8 range. likely not a full 3 seconds over the 5th gen 1LE's 1:22.8

Would be curious to see the same head2head but an A8 SS vs DCT M4. I just traded in my 2012 328i for my 2016 SS 6M and love every second of it! BMW really is losing their way unfortunately. Great cars still, but the price tag is just nuts.

I briefly thought about the M2 and a 2SS, then it passed.

Seems like BMW is more about the badge now, and less about the ultimate driving experience.

Looks like they got fat and happy, whereas Chevy (and Ford) is lean and hungry to be the best.

Remember back in the day when GM was fat and happy. That did not end well!

Nope. And GM really needed to streamline the brands. Pontiac and Oldsmobile were basically the same cars as Chevy and Buick with exterior and interior design variations.

That ramps up production costs. And although some of us complain about option packaging on the Camaro, that is what keeps costs down.

A car manufacturer can't be all things to all people. They need to appeal to the masses for competitive pricing.

We'll see the comparison when the magazines have their best drivers car comparison. I hope both the V6 and V8 1LE are included.

2015 Mustang GT PP: 1:24.32

So the SS is indeed just about as quick as the 5th gen 1LE. Would be nice to test them on the same day to see what the real difference is.
Wait i thought it was supposed to be faster.
