Bo White Porting- Throttle Body

Will be getting this back from Bo soon, and it will be tested on a 2016 Camaro first then the Z51 Corvette. Its a prototype and should be good to go.

Why does he leave a lip in there? The WeaponX and SoCal Porting ported LT1 throttle bodies that I've personally installed fully smooth the lip/edge out.

The event horizon is too steep when cut all the way out without overporting. I put a machined insert in some prototypes to fill in the void but didnt trust it. I dont trust epoxy either.

What is the event horizon? Is throttle behavior affected if you smooth it out?

Not in my experience with either the WeaponX or SoCal Porting ported LT1 throttle bodies. Here's a look at the two of them so you can see the smooth/lack of a lip:

WeaponX:

SoCal Porting:

Both have perfect drivability and idle with no odd behaviors.

Dyno was done, but I am not at shop to get sheets. butt dyno says more peppy, this mod is not designed for HP but for driveability, but there was 2 hp and 3 ftlbs torque gained. I think that's pretty good.

No sharp edges like stock, all smooth transitions.

Sounds about inline with what everyone is seeing across the various brands. Like you said, drivability and throttle response are the real benefits to this!

Good to know but you got the entire point of ported TB and porting in general. Never about getting 100 hp/tq but making everything smooth and increasing the efficiency!

Agreed! I could careless how much HP/TQ I gained from my ported TB and IM combo. I love how it was much much smoother compared to stock and being able to feel that the first time I went WOT is just amazing. Proves that it works why we did it! Can't wait for more supporting mods to it
