New Transformers Movie (Bumblebee)

http://jalopnik.com/bumblebee-is-get...pin-1759297473

You guys think they will use the Gen 6 Camaro in this? Looking forward to see how the car turns out if they do, but not so much how the movie turns out (they've been getting pretty rough).

Depends if GM is willing to pay for it or not.

That's the beauty of the Transformers franchise. The autobots can just so happen to scan and become any vehicle by the highest bidder, and presto, Bumblebee is a totally different make and model. They don't even have to show a Camaro on screen if they didn't want to. For all we know, this time around it will be a Tesla Model X.

Personally, I think the 6th gen is very sorely lacking a poster child car like Bumblebee was for the 5th gen, as much as we may have hated it. I'm not sure if Transformers is the way to go this time around, but they need something.

I hope not. The transformers franchise is out of gas, no sense in trying to do the same crap all over again on a dying franchise. If the gen 6 is to come out in a movie, its gotta be something fresh

What they need is to do some damn advertising like dodge does.

Have yet to see the 2016 camaro I any type of advertisement. Very strange.

When you are in 3rd place for the last 6+ years, you need to advertise. Personally it shows the desperation of the brand to resort to TV commercials to sell a call. You don't see Ford advertising the Mustang do you?

Um...yes. Yes I do. They have a commercial with a beautiful woman walking to the back of a yellow GT to hold a microphone to the exhaust, and then it revs a few times.

The Camaro has sooooo much more to advertise. I wish there was a way for me to submit an idea for a commercial. I took a few media editing classes (Photography and Video) in college, and I think I could make a few ideas that people might like.

I've never seen that commercial. I've seen the Dodge commercial about 3 times already tonight. But it's funny Ford makes a commercial of the GT exhaust which is universally panned for being too quiet.

So 3 Mustang commercials and Dodge has 3 or more too. So Ford has no problem selling theirs. Dodge maintains the same sales. Lesson to be learned, TV adds don't sell these cars. Transformers movie may and would be a better investment more than likely.

Like with any ad, it at least increases buyer awareness. Unless you were to walk into a show room, the average buyer would have no idea that the 2016 Camaro even exists. Ford at least had a marketing campaign, plus a spot in the Need for Speed movie.

GM is really dropping the ball on the advertising front. Even during the Find New Roads tour, the event was very poorly publicized and only about 30 people showed up when they stopped in Raleigh. They seemed prepared for a much bigger crowd strangely enough.

I think it's funny, actually. The first time I saw it, made me think, "So you need a microphone and like 50 speakers to even hear it...ok."

I don't think that's the idea they were hoping to get across.

Totes agree with this. Buyer awareness of a NEW product is key. Challenger is becoming last gen, even with the mid-cycle refresh.

Weight loss, increased power, new engine options, V6 1LE, new interior, an exhaust that brings on car-gasms, glow-tie, MRC, Mode Selector, Apple Car Play, and winner of the Motor Trend Car Of The Year Award are things Chevy should be advertising like crazy RIGHT MEOW.

Chevy...please do a FB promotion to see who can come up with the best Theatrical Commercial for you. I have passion for your products, skills on a computer, and ideas!!

3rd place and gaining fast. The Challenger isn't that far behind the Camaro in sales. Just wait until they get the next generation out.
