I meant that the gen5 1LE has about the same overall gearing as the standard gen5 SS... the LT1 has a very different torque curve, so the lower ratios won't necessarily make the gen6 car faster on a track. It would be fun in a street car though!

Does anyone know when non-professional photos will be available? I assume the car will be on display at the Chicago auto show during the day. I'd like to see more interior shots, some undercarriage shots of the coolers, etc.

Well remember the 5th gen 1LE had a 3:91 rear, the 6th gen 1LE has a 3:73 rear. Same transmission gearing...some didn't like the 3:91's as it meant more shifts. The extra oomph of the LT1 fills that gap. Less shifting, plus less weight and more power...it's gonna move out very well.

I just don't like the "unfinished" look of the hood and aero parts, but I guess you can always get them painted to match the body later.

I would prefer if the suspension was NOT the MRC version though. For pure performance I want just the stiffest ride possible, not something that is more versatile.
Look at the price of high performance shocks. They are VERY expensive. Even when offered on a wholesale level for an OEM.

The unfinished look can easily be undone as the stock parts should be painted. I know for a fact the hood is. Spoiler might not be.

As long as the 1LE has A/C and a pretty decent stereo I see nothing to complain about. GM got it right this time so far.

based on the pics above...the seats do not impress! 5th gen recaro's and t350 reeker's look much better!

The more I look at this thing, the less MRC matters to me. Dammit GM, why do you do this to me?
