Yeah. People act like they didn't improve the visibility. They did. There are a few people here who have to constantly bring it up. If you don't like it don't buy it.

couldn't have put it better. If you can't adapt, then don't even risk it and just leave that Camaro on the lot for a better driver that can, and let that be the end of the visibility complaint. I adapted to my 2014's visibility within the first day, its not rocket science. If this statement causes one less sale, then too bad... Chevy/GM could have done more to improve its visibility and silence the whiny half-blind folks who see this as a big issue... But it is what it is. I don't care either way, as long as I get mine This dead-horse visibility complaint is making me get all belligerent... time for some Camaro therapy to relax me lol

Some wouldn't have scraficed visibility if the decision was theirs during the design process. Fact is, the trade offs were weighed carefully and the choice was made by those who earned the right to decide. Stop bitching about it. Responsibility in the end is on their shoulders.
Visibility is suboptimal but the styling is awesome. The base performance, interior design and level of tech far exceeded what I thought we'd get so I'm absolutely blown away. A low 12 sec Alpha base car with Audi like interior, mag ride and HUD! Pinch me because I must be dreaming.

I don't know what part of Cali you are in, but if people want them, why not go to a dealer that has them so they can test drive them then work on dealer trade with their local dealer? That is how I would do it if I lived in central Illinois. If I had to have one, I would drive out to the suburbs, test drive one then have my local dealer do a dealer trade Quote:

I went to the Find New Roads deal when it was in L.A. and spoke to one of the gentlemen there who was very knowledgeable and one of the reps....(Sorry, I can't remember who it was, and it wasn't Al O.)....
Anyway, I asked about the delay in the I-4, the strategy of sales, etc. and his reply was interesting. He explained that with the initial release and sales of the Gen6, they are indeed catering to the V-8 crowd and the enthusiasts who are knowledgeable about the Camaros....(one reason for lack of a national advertising campaign, sort of)... Once the initial high demand for the performance and highly optioned versions has tapered off, the other models will have their day in the sun. In his opinion V-8 sales will be the highest in the first year, and for the first year only, not just because others are not available, but that in the ensuing years it will be up to the lower cost versions to carry the sales banner.... I know we will have to wait and see, but I wouldn't expect turbo 4 and V-6 models to be an addition to the numbers we see now, as perhaps V-8 numbers will lessen, and others will prop things up to keep it about the same, hopefully more...Anyhoo, that's my story and I'm sticking to it...lol... |

You want to see a great commercial watch Jay Lenos you tube channel about his GT350R talk about free advertising. I belong to a Chevy Club and when we watched it, lets just say it might be a ford year. Time to trade in the ZL1.

I think the Camaro is going to have a very, very tough road to hoe moving forward.
Yes, the lowliest SS Camaro will outperform the best GT in nearly every way performance-wise, but the cost gap is just gigantic. The 1SS is not what the masses want - people want HUD, fancy touchscreens, heated steering wheels, leather - and it is still insanity to me that after tax, tags and dealer fees, you're paying over $50,000 for a 2SS. You could get a new 2015 ZL1 during last year's Black Friday sale for less than a 2016 2SS. That is a real problem for the financial engineers among us. Probably greater than 9 out of 10 Camaro and Mustang owners will never race their car, and a GT is "plenty fast enough" for most owners of both vehicles. Chevrolet put themselves in a precarious situation by pricing the Camaro well above the means of most people, and I think that's a huge mistake because the Camaro has always been the performance car for Average Joe. That is no longer the case with the Gen 6. If you're not going to track your car, you can get a much "nicer" Mustang for a lot less - and virtually no one tracks their cars. Best of luck to Chevy, but don't expect to outsell Ford this year or any year moving forward unless something is done about the cost structure.

This is what I think is happeing: Chevy is no longer concerned with being the superior pony, they want to have their Camaro get recognized as a sports car, and are now looking to attack the BMW market, leaving behind the working class muscle car loving market that made them a household name. I don't expect many BMW drivers are rushing to trade in their German cars for an "American muscle car" brand. Theyre going to lose a lot of their core fans by pricing their cars so far out of reach compared to their competitors, and aren't going to gain many new ones to justify the bold move. I may be wrong tho, only time will tell. For Chevy's sake, I better be. I would really hate to see the Camaro die again.

Look at cars.com the first 5 pages are 2SS's listed over $50.000. For a young guy with a $5000 down payment and a backwards trade which most have. Your looking at $650 to $800. a month payment. Or more if you are a risk and get a crazy percentage rate. Then figure in Insurance. $1000.00 a month to drive a car.????????????. I agree with you guys that say the car is great, but someone forgot people need to be able to afford the car..

Touche, but yeah 4 or 5 hours is a bit of stretch. Amazing how different dealer trades are state to state. When we bought my wife's car it came from a dealer in MI, was a super easy process See I don't think they will lose their core fans, I am worried they catered to them to much, not changing the styling as much, not fixing the visibility, more standard equipment. I am more worried they might lose the buyer who is just looking for a sporty coupe. |
