Debadging 2016 SS with Goo Off

Hi guys,

Any idea if Goo Off is safe for use on the white paint?

I really love the tight lines in the back and want to remove the chevy logo as well (please no hate). Any idea if it's just a sticker or if there's a hole behind it?

Also, any advice for the front chevy and SS logos?

Thanks!

Do not use goof off… You want GOO GONE . goof off will MARK THE PAINT.

There are lots of us that have done all sorts of things with the badges and such, see the cosmetic section.

Every badge on the car except the front bowtie comes off , leaves no holes and is a perfectly flush surface.

3M adhesive remover spray is what I use. It's a very mild adhesive remover, so you need to let it sit for a few minutes, rub, spray, repeat. It takes a lot of patience, but it won't leave a single mark. The lamp bezels on my 5th gen are painted without clear coat to protect them, and they weren't damaged even by my overspray. I wouldn't use it for a larger project, but it's fine something as small as de-badging.

This thread is kind of ironic. Your name and what you're looking to do with your Camaro.

Why is it ironic? My idea of clean ass is one without anyone's marketing on it

Another vote for 3m remover, spray and wait about 5 minutes and the emblems fall off. Clean the area after goo fone turns into a big ass mess all the time lol

Do not use ANY chemical or adhesive remover.

To take any badge off, unflavored waxed dental floss does the trick perfectly. It will take the badge clean off the car without any remnants of the adhesive if the badge is new, and it will not mar your paint up.

Cool story bro. I debadged cars before. What you describe is obviously the first step in the process. If truly nothing is left behind in terms of paint goo, there's no need for any further "adhesive remover" steps. But my experience tells me it ain't so.

3M remover is very safe to use and won't damage the paint. A guy I know that has a Paint & Body shop specializing in Corvettes uses it all the time and told me about it.

Right. Clean Ass is making sure his Camaro has a clean ass. The logic follows. Or maybe Clean Ass has a super nice ass? (meaning donkey)
