Anyone gotten a legit alignment yet?

The car will be at the race shop next week to get an autocross alignment. I'm curious if anyone here has gotten a real alignment on their Gen6 yet?

Any wagers for how much negative camber in front is possible with the stock hardware??

I would like to know the capabilities as well. I don't even know what the 5th gens were capable of so I won't even venture a guess. What are you thinking?

I'll probably be lucky to get -1.5deg. IIRC a Gen5 1LE couldn't get much more than -1deg?

For AutoX front camber is going to be critical. This is one place where Ford does a good job with the Mustang by documenting a "procedure" in the service manual for grinding material off the strut ears for additional camber allowing them to get >2deg.

Numbers came back pretty good-

Front Camber: -1.85 Left, -1.65 Right

That is fully maxxed out, including taking up the minimal slop in the strut top. I didn't try loosening and shifting the subframe to even it up.

This is only slightly less than what the GTPP can achieve using their service manual procedure. I'd say that's pretty good out of the box.

As said elsewhere, check the manual for other factory authorized procedures to correct the alignment like slotting... I'd be interested to see what it says.

Got over -2 in my fifth gen. Would love to see the start and finish for your alignment for more than camber

Okay. So move to Paradise, Eric.

We're having the second auto-x of the season this coming weekend. We auto-x year round here. It might be just a little early in the season to find something back there. Washington Region of the SCCA should have something in the spring. Don't give up.
Keep looking.

When you do get ready to try an auto-x, find an alignment shop and get decambered to the max, it sure does help.

Best regards, and good luck.

I'm still trying to find one that is in Maryland, possibly Pennsylvania or the Virginias, I'm going to look more closely into Maryland auto cross and an alignment shop. If not, I'll look in other locations.

Since the front end is Mcpherson which is just two bolts holding it to the knuckle and the top bolt has a cam, the secondary fixed bolt can be replaced with a camber bolt(cam bolt) to give an additional degree no?

I am used to my Subbies Mcpherson.

Got mine set up today,

Front -2.0 camber Left and right, tow -.01, Caster 7.6

Rear -1.6 Camber left and right, tow +.01,

I think I could have got more out of the rear but didn't want it.

!!!! 100% STOCK!!!!

To expand on that, for SCCA solo in the "Street" classes (not to be confused with Street Touring), you can only do factory authorized procedures for alignment. If authorized repair for an alignment after an accident is to use different camber bolts (i.e., "crash bolts"), then you can get them and max those out.

Subarus also only have one camber bolt of the two to adjust camber and no authorization for a 2nd bolt. For example, if you had a WRX in DStreet, you can *NOT* add another bolt to get more camber. That was illegal. However, in STX, it is legal.

For track days or other SCCA Classes... other rules apply (or there are no rules).
