However, this is a new model year with major changes, so who knows what problems may arise in the future if any. I'm gonna take a leap of faith here and trust GM to not deliver me a lemon, and skip on the extended warranty, and instead just set some money aside for repairs.
IMO the wheel/tire protection is excellent. I bent a wheel on my 1LE on our wonderful Utah roads and my wheel tire protection saved me $1400 bucks. The protection cost me $695 so it paid for itself twice on the first instance. Read the protection carefully though. Some of them don't cover curb rash, they cover "Road Hazard". So basically, if you curb it, you didn't curb it.

All the best,

I agree that was what made most sense to me was having the tire and wheel protection. And yes will have to read the fine print. They obviously said curb rashes are not covered but anything else is, as long as it wasn't driver error.

Thanks!

if we're lucky with this generation as well, all that saved money can instead go into more mods or groceries and wife's clothes

Thanks for that! I like the concept of a savings plan for repairs. Which my wife will obviously take over eventually lol

LOL, you can buy extended warranty a year from now...maybe 2, maybe 3.

Personally, if you are interested, shop around, some dealers offer them much cheaper, and you can maybe even buy online from a dealer if they offer. Shoot, If i were you, i'd call Becky Doyle at Rogers Chevy and see if she sells them and for what price.

Am I allowed to shop around? See that's one thing they weren't clear on was how much time I had to purchase an extended warranty. Does it have to be the same day I drive off with it or can I purchase it at anytime I want, obviously I mean from a Chevy dealership. I know I can go online and find third party companies that offer extended warranties. But would those be comparable to a plan that the dealer offers?

I don't know much about the warranty itself because I declined it. But I will assure you, you will have an absolutely massive amount of chances to buy it. I received monthly letters in the mail to buy it for 3 years. Now I am getting constant phone calls from secondary companies offering me warranties. I'm getting quite agitated turning down the offers. No amount of BS will get these guys to stop calling me. I've told them it's heavily modified, I've told them I wrecked it, I told them I stripped it down and sold it for parts, I told them I sold it, i told them everything under the sun. They will not stop calling. Not sure if it's my dealer that screwed me over here, or GM. But that's just for my equinox. The camaro I feel that I haven't been called as much.

Yes, you can buy it from any dealer willing to sell it. And i'm sure someone can here can tell you, like Fenwick or others, where you can find the GM backed extended warranty online.

IMO, they have put a sense of urgency on you as a sales tactic. Call Becky Doyle (her number is in her signature - just search) and maybe she can provide you with accurate info.

The one think IDK about is the wheel warranty mentioned in this thread...if that is another product outside the "extended" warranty.

Well that's good to know that they let you extended once the factory warranty ends. I have full faith in the Camaro. As for the repeated calls won't you be able to put them on like a blocked list or something? That sure sounds like a pain in the butt. Even after you told them it's wrecked...lol

Thanks for that suggestion I had already emailed her and she's looking into it for me. The wheel and tire warranty is indeed a separate warranty. That I actually interested in as it makes the most sense to have. Any damage not related to driver error will be covered 100%.

Also, searching a dude on a GMC sierra board said he shopped around and this was the best price...

GMEPP I guess is their latest and greatest.

These extended warranties are always a bit of a gamble and can be peace of mind for some. I never buy them as I the statistics don't suggest that they are worth it. However, for some people, it is worth it to not have the worry if something were to go wrong. I just don't like to worry about it and go through the hassle of having to make a claim.

Or this savings account could be used for your next car. If repairs are not needed. This is what I do and save up enough to purchase your next Porsche for cash.
