11 mpg average?

My car and math shows I'm getting 11 miles to the gallon..... Most days I don't get above 30mph just going to work right down the road. Doesn't seem right. I expected our cars to be thirsty but this is rediculous

Has to be the city driving. I drive a mix of city and interstate. In just over 1700 miles I've averaged 19.5 mpg on the V8 2SS. I've leaned into it a couple times as well.

How far is your drive to work and what part of the country do you live in?

It's exactly three stop lights to work. Clocked it at 5 miles. 0 traffic. 30mph. Twice a day. So I'm burning just under a gallon a day? Idk just does not seem right.

your commute only consists of a cold start. theres barely any closed loop during your ride. i would ride my bike.

Cold start. Car probably doesn't really warm up until you're about halfway there. Add sitting at lights. Your MPG is probably normal for that scenario.

I drive 30 miles on way top work so about 60-70 miles a day. I am averaging 20 mpg and I drive 80-120 almost everyday. I am past my 1500 miles and I drive it with out cruise still. Although I have noticed if I slow down and set cruise at 60- 65 I can get pretty close to 30mpg. Cruise control helps the fuel mileage tremendously.

To the OP I can see your mileage being horrible. It is not heating up properly. Then you have low speed stop and go. It does not like 30mph. If you were able to stay at 55mph consistent you wold change your whole outlook of the fuel mileage.

Yep, 0.91 gallons per day. Think of it this way: At $2.00/gal you're spending $1.82 per day on gas. Doesn't sound too bad when you think about it that way!

That's the worst possible drive cycle for your car. Change your oil frequently!
