I've said it before...and I'll say it again: ADJUST YOUR MIRRORS.

Do so properly...and there are NO blind spots! Imagine that...

Blind spots are a different issue than visibility: The visibility complains usually stem from people who don't normally drive cars like this. That's really got to suck for them. But step outside of the car, and one quickly realizes that to get the look we love, you've got to sacrifice some glass.

Many - dare I say most - supercars have the same or worse outward visibility than the Camaro...but how many reviewers do you hear mention that while driving around at stupid-fast speeds?

BUT!!! That all said - the Gen Six Camaro has much improved forward visibility than the last model. They did what they could by shrinking the A-pillars and adjusting the beltline/cowl height.

If greater visibility is what deters some from buying a 6thGen Camaro, then so be it. Will there be a cathartic change of design mid-stream to satisfy some? I doubt it.

The Camaro doesn't rise to the level of perfection or greatness expected by some, so all that's left is the sour grapes by those who feel their voice wasn't important enough to influence the design.. ...oh well, maybe wishes will come true in the next generation.

It would be interesting to see a design of the car that included "greater visibility". But we probably won't, and for good reason.

Because it has been endlessly, incessantly, beaten to death since the first review months ago. It's a sports car for one, and for two, there already exists a Mustang, with different styling and different pros/cons. You hardly ever hear anyone griping about the extra body roll from the Mustang because it's understood it's a GT car, and probably will have some extra body roll as a by product of making it a better cruising machine. This is the exact same thing as it being understandable the Camaro has restricted visibility because it is, was, and hopefully always will be a highly stylized/fun/more sports car oriented alternative to the Mustang. We don't need clones of the same thing from two manufacturers. The Camaro sold perfectly well just as is in the 5th gen. I do t understand why hardly anyone gets that you are going to have some sacrifices with any car, regardless of price range. It's impossible to retain these exact looks AND have improved visibility. Again, everyone who has that big of an issue can absolutely purchase a Mustang/Challenger. It doesn't exactly keep me up at night; I'm just extremely tired of hearing the same BS by almost everyone in almost every review.

Some of you are coming around.

Just admit that you are willing to trade off visibility in order to have a more aggressive look. I poke because people actually a) claim visibility is great and/or b) claim all you have to do is adjust your mirrors and use technology.

Oh and to start another poop storm.......you can't claim the Mustang is a Gran Touring car and the Camaro is a Sports Car. Using that as an excuse as to why the Mustang has better visibility is...................... They are both in the same class. The Corvette IS a Sports Car. The Camaro is not in the same class as the Corvette regardless of performance similarities.

Sales will tell the story. My only worry is that people will not buy the Camaro because it isn't a great coupe.

NOTE THE FOLLOWING: If you are on this website and reading this, performance more than likely outweighs visibility, trunk space and rear seat room. All attributes of comparing a cars usefulness. And 3 areas where the Mustang is measurably better than the Camaro. But, again, if you are on this website and reading this, those are probably the 3 things at the bottom of your list. Just be able to admit that people who are NOT on this website and don't care about this website or even care that the car is a 6th Generation of an iconic brand and are looking for a great coupe are using those attributes to judge and compare the cars. Most of the rest of the car buying public are NOT......LIKE......US

I am looking to be a first time Camaro buyer this spring and he visibility issue IS a concern for me. My solution is the buy the convertible and use it as a fun nice weather summer car!

Yeah I totally agree with your statements. However, rear seat space for the Mustang or Camaro is not going to work for any adult. Trunk space is certainly better on the Mustang. But the only real reason I believe people would choose the Mustang over the Camaro is the visibility out of the three areas you mentioned. Especially if they're coming from a sedan.

As far as a performance car the Camaro is better but that doesn't necessarily mean good sales.

Well, congrats on buying a Camaro - I hope you enjoy it completely!

What difference there is in visibility, you get used to it VERY quickly, so I wouldn't worry too much. The convertible top will help, though - for sure!

What color are you thinking?

Admit it. You just don't fit into the car.

Generally I agree with...well, almost everything you say, Number 3.

But these two points have me scratching my head...I've witnessed the disappearing blind spots when I've properly adjusted the mirrors. Car from rearview enters sideview with some overlap, and then into my periphery with some more overlap before it's in front of me. I speak 100% unexaggerated truth!

Personally, I don't think I've ever said visibility in this car is great. It's not. There's, intentionally, far less glass as a result of the exterior design. But I've observed that the compromise is mostly vertical...and since I don't fly my Camaros, regularly, I've no need to look up or down with great breadth, so I just don't care.

The second thing, though...are you really concerned this new car isn't great?

Not everyone obsesses over the car like probably most people on this forum (myslef included) and look at 20 reviews. I'm sure some people only care what consumer reports has to say and don't really look at anything else. For those people (probably the majority) it's not beaten to death but just a fact stated in a review of the car.

They even state in their review that although visibility is bad the car has a bunch of driver assistance features to help with that.

...One can only imagine the enormous ego and arrogance of someone who requires all others to see things exactly as they do, and requires everyone admit they are only fooling themselves and have purchased an inferior/non-great product....

...Once all come around and see things in the proper perspective, then the poking can stop.

I'm glad I didn't buy one of these cars yet. I'd have a lot of explaining to do.

I absolutely agree I'm willing to trade some visibility for style. But like I said, a greater visibility model already exists with the accompanying style (Mustang/Challenger). We don't have to completely eliminate everything else just because some people prefer more visibility. I would t feel so strongly about it if it wasn't constantly harped on by SO many people. And the Mustang is a different car. They may be technically classified in the same realm, but they're both obviously aiming for different objectives. Even with the track pack the Mustang doesn't handle as well as the new Camaro does, as told by multitudes of journalists. Likewise the Camaro isn't as comfortable or easy to deal with on a 1k mile trip. That's okay. It just seems like an inordinate amount of people crap on the Camaro for its visibility, while barely touching the Mustang's softer handling. They both have a place though. Like I said, none of this exactly gives me panic attacks, it's just obnoxious having SO many freakin people endlessly moan about the visibility. I absolutely applaud Saabkyle and Subaruwrxfan for mentioning it without blowing it completely out of proportion. And Subaru actually owns a Mustang Ecoboost. Both very good reviews on YouTube btw. Y'all should check em out if you haven't seen them yet.
