Does the COPO tell us anything about the ZL1's hood?
We may see a cowl-induction hood similar to that seen on the COPO. Just my opinion, but I think it would be pretty cool!

That hood is primarily designed to ram (literally) air into the throttle body of the N/A motors (the LT1 and 427), you can see the fitting that funnels air from that inlet into the throttle body.
A ZXX car will have a emissions and production ready intake system..and I think the hood will be more concerned with getting heat out as opposed to ramming air in. |

I don't see any resemblance, both have cowls but they are totally different.

The Gen 5 ZL1 development team attempted to do some big-hood designs, and got nowhere with them because they were more than useless. That's where the heat extractor design came from. Functional, and cool-looking! As has been spied at the Nurburgring, the hood appears to have complex creases similar to the CTS-V, but different from the Caddy...some rear shots have shown a huge gaping maw of an opening at the base of this new "cowl" on the ZL1. Definitely a Heat-extractor...should be interesting to see how it is designed.
