Yes but it goes back down after a few seconds, it feels like it is entering performance mode/ launch control maybe...

ive had this problem several times, still have it. i thought it happened only when i was in track/sport mode but it happens in touring mode as well. gonna take it to the dealer after this storm hits

It sounds like a cold start and the computer increasing the RPMs to allow the engine to warm up.

$100 says dealer says it's normal. And yes, if the car is started cold and immediately driven it will move a bit faster than you are accustomed to until it warms a bit. To warm up quickly and get better EPA stats, a high idle for few secs does wonders for the pollution readings.
I usually don't move until the tunes start playing and I've buckled up, thus usually a enuf time to let it go thru its paces.... |

like others have said. upon initial start wait until the rpm goes down before you touch the gas. It should be around 30 seconds maybe. I'm pretty sure all cars do this to warm up the cats.

This doesn't happen upon initial start at all, I drove the car to PA (2 hour trip) and still had that problem when I got there

MY CAR DID IT ALSO , BUT I HAD IT IN NEUTRAL , ALSO THE CAR SAT FOR ABOUT A WEEK WITHOUT BEING STARTED . THE TEMPS HAD CHANGED QUITE A BIT SINCE THE LATS TIME I HAD STARTED IT , SO MAYBE JUST THE COMPUTER DOING ADJUSTMENTS WAS ONLY ABOUT 10 SECONDS FOR ME THO
