Unless you are an enthusiast, nobody will really care or understand. My Colleague bought a BRZ and thought it was the best car ever made. He even walked by a brand new Porsche 911 Turbo and said his car was better.

The only way to even get any semblance of understanding would be to take them for a test drive and let the car speak for itself.

Whats helps me when explaining is the fact that we are doing supercar numbers from just a few years ago.

Here is the usual comments you're gonna get...."the car is too small" or "you can't sit in the back" or "its too expensive"

my answer: rev the engine and shut them up

My fiance was very skeptical when I ordered the car without even test driving it. She felt it was too costly. Took her for a test drive. She looked very convinced afterwards....

I used to race Ducati's not too long ago and I was never a Harley fan but one Harley owner explained it to me this way "If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand."

Very often, people hide envy and jealousy by acting as if what you have isn't something they'd want.

Best way I've found to deal with critics is "Agree and Amplify". For example: "First model year of redesign? That's going to have a lot of recalls." Me: "Yup. Looking forward to it. The receptionist at the dealer is smokin' hot."

The 5th gen was "special", 6th gen while a nice upgrade in performance will never capture the attention the same way the 5th gen did. Hell, most people out there will probably think it's just a modified 5th gen from the looks of it.

Remember the 5th gen came at a time there was not Camaro for many years, and the new design really was ground breaking and beautiful, because of that there was a ton of anticipation. The 6th gen has not commanded anywhere near the same attention and never will, that's just fact, and the proof is in the numbers. I remember when the 5th gen came out, almost EVERY dealer was marking them up 5-10K, with the 6th gen I've seen a couple under MSRP already.

Agreed. But in my individual case, those minor differences made the difference between "meh, looks weird" and "holy crap, I gotta have one".

It's true... "if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand."

The thing that makes the 6th gen special is the quality control issues

I'm only kidding. I know that its just some early production issues that need to be ironed out.

anyways what do you guys tell people or USE to tell people before you got the car?? did y'all compare it to being way better than some other really expensive car just to get the point across??
They act that way because to most people it's not an all new car, it's just a Camaro. Also, it seems like camaros have had a negative stigma attached to them the last few years.

What negative stigma has there been in the past few years?

What makes the 6th Gen special is your experience driving it and enjoying it. It's the driving experience, the thrill and or comfort...can't put a number or bullet point on it since that is different from person to person.
