I'm glad GM is trying and experimenting..I'm liking what's going on with buick..they used to be the oldest looking buildings cars etc..need more relevance to separate from caddy..I just wonder if moving caddy hq helped separation from GM..ok sorry off topic

Gm, why did you even by a Chevy since you hate them so much? I agree with you on some stuff and a Buick GN would be really bitchin. I don't really care if we can't see out as well as long as I'm seeing the competition in my mirror or the back window.

I love GM's pushrod V8 in the MANY GM's vehicles I've bought over the last 3 decades.
What gives you the right to question me after I just bought another GM V8 in my 2016 Camaro 1ss???

I just hate stupid decisions made by arrogant executives and the blind fan boy apologists that accept and defend these failures.
Case in point: Why can't I at least buy a Alpha sedan with a LT1 and a rev matching stick from Chevrolet in 2016?

But, you only made 450rwhp from a supercharged 6.0L and all of your "performance" cars have had torque converters, so I can see why you don't understand the points I've made.
It's OK. We call can agree that GM did a great job on Alpha and the LT1.

All sacrifices I reluctantly made to get a LT1 with a rev matching stick in a 3,6xxlb Alpha chassis with MSRC.
Especially when Al O tells me their are no plans for a Alpha SS Sedan, and that if it happens, it's at least 3 years away.
Based on your post, I see that you swallow the GM kool aid and rely on marketing materials for to form your own "opinion". Even spending " low $40's " for a 2008 Pontiac G8 that was selling for the low $20's in 2009 is insane. The SS Sedan is a GREAT sedan, if was sold in 2008 for $3x,xxx.
The 2016 Camaro SS with it's next gen engine, manual transmission, interior styling, etc exposes the SS Sedan for the last generation, 8 year old car that it is.
How much was the GXP in 2009? Not low 20s. I don't drink the kook aid, I will call GM out when they do stupid shit. The SS has so much more tech than the GXP, and it was 6-7 years ago. Cars get more expensive. I would just say, know your shit if you wanna talk. Don't come here spouting off falsehoods.

Not at all, I'm a gm guy also. You just complain about them so much. I'm glad you love the pushrod engine as I do, its a true American icon. I've strayed to the competition a few times in the 80's cause gm built some really bad stuff, but of the 72 cars/trucks I've owned, 95% have been gm. You chose a 1ss like I did as I think they are the best value compared to a 2ss. Not questioning at all, obviously you chose the right car and glad you did.

GM did a great job on the LT1 and Alpha. GM'ers have a lot to be proud of.

Lol. Ok. "SS is a glorified G8," "G8s selling for low 20s in 2008." The in the other thread talking about how much better the M6 is too the A8, just because of your opinion. Or that the M6 is the closest thing GM has to the DCT lol.

All of my posts above are FACTS. Sorry you're uninformed.

Can we choose to agree that GM did a great job on Alpha and the LT1 and move on ????

We can agree that the alpha and lt1 are amazing. But you are wrong about a lot, and most here will confirm. Not sure where you found a GXP in 2008 that was in the low 20s. You cannot use the GT because it's not even close to the SS. Even the GTs were not in the low 20s. Not sure is what way you can say the M6 is superior to the A8 in any way other than feel. Shift times? No. Faster? No. Better mpg? No. I'm super glad GM still offers the manual, but if you take the subjective feel out of the equation, the A8 is objectively better.

Keep lying to yourself and repeating misinformation.
I am going to choose to focus on what we agree about below, and ignore the garbage you're posting.

Yes, the LT1 and Alpha are great GM successes, and I commend GM for retaining the stickshift until they choose to offer the DCT they inevitably will.

Go ahead and post a link proving me wrong. I'll wait. I have posted facts. Not feelings, facts.

could be an LF3 (thats the vsport engine right?) 400 hp TTV6 in a camaro body for the price of a 2SS, trade some power for some luxury and a different roofline

I think its sad that we have to argue about a car we all love or at least like. Its the America we've come to know. Guess I'm older and didn't have the net to settle our differences. I've been through this on the g8 forums, ls1 tech. It doesn't change, everybody is smarter then the other guy, more knowledge, more technical. Really we are just car guys who all want a fast car and it doesn't matter if its an A8 or M6. However it won't change in my lifetime and I'm probably way older then most on this forum. Lets just kick the asses of the competition and keep it civil or at least try.
