No Z/28 for a while

http://nseavoice.com/cars/2016-chevr...p-9200484.html

Not sure how much credence we can place on this dealer's info, but if true it parallels the path I figured GM would go. Very few buyers for an almost $80k hard core Camaro. GM wants to capitalize off the z28 buzz, so basically replace what we've come to know as the 1le with the z28 badging. Not sure if that's what you guys took from this.

When they say 'most powerful Camaro yet', I can only assume that excludes the zl1. If the power trumps the zl1, then you're right back at square one with very pricey 6th gen.

That website is just as misinformed as the dealer is...

Or they could just replace the 1LE with another 1LE.

I have a very hard time believing that the two high performance models we saw testing at the Ring won't be available this year. One N/A track package and the S/C one. I don't care what they call them.

I would have to agree, we were teased in September with both cars at the ring and its been complete radio silence since - maybe because they are simply ready to reveal at NAIAS this month - I hope.

for me the S/C is going to be the GT style replacement for the ZL1, what they call it, who knows.
The NA we saw, i'm not so sure that's a replacement for the Z/28, it's really hard to nail down cuz we could say "hey it's a 1LE", but we all know the 1LE is a SS package upgrade...and maybe what we saw is still the SS with 1LE package...who knows.

I just hope they have the LT4 version for MY 2017.

Given the 6th Gen's computer already has a reference to the LT4...I'd say it's coming much sooner rather than later...

You have to love articles like this. First they say that GM hasn't spilled the beans on any hi po models but then they say GM has said the Z28 will be more accessible.

"We spoke to a Chevy dealer". LOL!!!!!

Yea, Huffines Chevy in Lewisville TX had a sales manager tell me last year that the 6th Gen Camaro would be based on Epsilon II and be front wheel drive. Oh yes, "Chevy dealers" are where we all should go for future GM product info.

Lol. No doubt the source of this info is dubious at best, but I do tend to agree with some of the intel/speculation. I guess time will tell.

I had a dealer argue with me about the malibu ltz having a V8.... The salesman swore up and down that it had the option and that I didn't know what I was talking about when I told him that it did not. He finally proceeded to tell me that the Chevrolet website did not have details as to what engines each specific dealer was able to get. He said they were able to choose if they wanted the Malibus on their lots to be V8's or not. At this point I couldn't believe how misinformed and crooked this place was so I walked away laughing while the salesman stood there asking if I was going to buy the car....

Stop getting my hopes up. HAHAHA!

I'm trying to come to terms with a March announcement being okay. Isn't that what the tags on the test car showed? 3/25 I think.

Yeah that's what it said on the car. We will see soon enough.
