I'm on the lower end of this thread too haha. I only make about 55k but I'm single no wife or kids so it's not bad at all with a decent down payment (2ss).

Damn guys... you're adults and free to do what you like, but i'm well into my 40s and still haven't bought a new car in my life. This will likely be my first one. As a general rule, if you need a co-signer, you can't afford it. You'll get there, have a little discipline and patience and you'll be in a much better position and take a lot of pressure out of your life at a young age.

This feels like a very tacky attempt by the OP to brag about what he believes is a high income. Can you imagine being at a car show where some joker keeps walking up to people telling them what his salary is and asking about theirs? He'd be laughed out of the place.

I wouldn't call it splurging, but it is an emotional (luxury) buy... and that's kinda the point: everyone has a reason and/or a story. Mine: probably the last car of my bachelor years...
So it had to be Black, 2 doors, a V8, and not say idiotic things like "Ground Speed" in the gauge or "Fuel" on the gas cap cover.

Not sure what the motives of the OP are, but... Some of us are just older, which means insurance is super cheap and we have paid up most of our debts. We have done our times in junky pieces of crap. I even had a boss of mine ask me if I was ever going to drive a car with a muffler to which I replied, "I had a muffler, but it fell off on the way to work." Time to splurge. Kids are older, don't need back seats, and we have already invested and spent our times in sedans and SUVs. Time to live a little and enjoy the perks of growing older. Not a brag fest. Just a reality of what's to come if you are level headed and prioritize well. |

Congrats to you too man! I plan on keeping this as my main for a long time. I still need to learn how to properly clean and maintain the paint though. What options did you get?

You're wrong. This is me being transparent and answering my own personal question. I ask because I wanted to get a feel for my community. This entire time I thought I was talking to guys making 400k a year . This just further pushes in my mind that we are all hard working folks who manage their income well enough to pursue our hobbies .. But I also wanted to make sure that yes, I can buy this car and not beat myself over because "I could have or should have invested "... |
