The stock wheel size are 20X8.5 and 20X9.5 inches. I personally wouldn't try and run a 315 series tire on a 9.5 inch wheel. The widest I would go is a 285 or possibly a 295 but even that's pushing the limits. Tirerack recommends a min rim width of 10.5 inches for a 315 tire.

A 255/40 front and 285/35 "should fit". Can't see why it wouldn't. Not sure if stock offsets will allow for the extra 5mm on each side. Once again, can't imagine not fitting. Going any bigger than that and it's time for new rims. I would suggest a stickier tire for extra traction before trying to go wider than that without new wheels. We are all in the learning phase on what works. Good luck.

Currently have on (no issues)
315/35 R20 20x11 in the Rear
275/40/R20 20x10 in the front

Tried on Pirelli P Zero
305/35 R20 20x11 had an issue with the driver side rear tire causing contact with the carpet. Looks like there is a small carpet bulge for a cable.

So the 315 fits fine but the 305 rubbed?

If your going to lower it you should stay in the 285 area on a 9.5 or a 10 so you can tuck it. I'll be doing the bmr 1.2 on mine like I have on my 15ss, but probably will do a 40 series in the rear, don't really like the short side wall and 35 series up front.. Really won't know till I get my 16 hear and I'll order in a couple of sets of wheels and tires at work to figure out the best set up. I'll lower it first and then wheels and tires. I'll tuck the biggest I can without any rubbing. Since I sell custom wheels and tires for a living it makes it a little easier for me to get it done.

Yes its a little weird my guess is, because the Pirelli are a little bit different than the 315 acceleras tires i had on

Why do you want wider tires? If it is for better handling you need
wider wheels. Even going 10mm wider on the tires distorts the tire sidewall
in the wrong direction! The stock tire size is optimum for the wheel widths.
If for inline traction maybe a 10mm wider tire in the rear might help.

I'm having the same issue here. I have 20x10s in the rear and it looks like I can't find a size they make for drag radials that fit these wheel wells. Why the hell are the gen 6 wheel wells so small. Chevy should have expected a car like this to be used at the drag strip... Another issue I have is why is the gearing so low? What can I do to make a 305/35 fit or hell even a 275/40
