Cool.

I'm 6 foot ........ with short legs.................your child's legs would have been crushed if I were driving. See my photo below, not a good one. My shins were hard into the IP and it isn't something I'd want to do for much more than a short hop.

But clearly it's going to work for you which is GREAT!!!!

I think the golf club issue is the latest equipment. I have a 45" driver (not sure about yours) and there was no angle that would allow it to fit when I checked.

I do know that GM's standard 2 golf bag test works, but mostly because it is 1960s era cloth Sunday bags with a 43" driver. So I'm pretty sure they passed their own test.

But you give me hope. Fitting 2 golf bags is number 1 for me, I just wasn't able to get one in and store my driver in the trunk.

Some additional pics of my knees by the IP, I have an inch or two of room. I also was able to sit in the rear seat behind the driver seat without moving it out of my position and I shut the door of the car, now my head needs to lean forward, but I was able to basically straddle the front seat and it wasn't uncomfortable, however the lack of head room for anyone over prob 5'8" or so would not be ideal. I wear a 34x34 size jeans, so maybe that gives you an idea of the length of my legs.

I think early on during the Camaro's announcement, there were promotional materials circulating that listed color names with obvious misspellings and/or were downright tacky. They were never actually acknowledged by GM as the official paint colors.

See: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=419301

Keep an eye out on the stickers on the new Camaros. You may see references to colors such as:
  • Blade Ungrained Low Polish
  • Abalone
  • Tricot
  • Switch Balde Silver
  • Lemon Pel
  • Sun of a Gun

You can't make this stuff up...

I did find out that Son of a Gun grey is used on the CTS, same factory, so makes sense

I'm sure the design process required many discussions about the features you mention. I would assume that there were also compromises involved that left some on the design and/or marketing team feeling as you do.

It means heading out to dinner or a quick trip you COULD get 4 adults in the car. In the Gen5 you could, did it many times. In a Gen6? That was a trade off GM publicly stated they made.

For a lot of people this won't matter. For me and some others it will.

And to repeat myself again, my concern is that GM took tooo much practicality from the car. By their own admission and publicized data, they made the trunk MUCH smaller, they made the rear seat tighter.

For most of the people that care enough about cars and particularly the Camaro and regularly come to this awesome website, that likely won't matter. But for some it will.

Do I think the Camaro gets back to 90,000 maybe 100,000 units per year once production is under way and the cool factor wears off? Yes.

Do I think it can sell 150,000 units like the Mustang has? Not really sure about that.

And the FEAR? The car sells like the 2000 to 2002 did. Awesome V8 sales, lackluster V6 sales annnnnnnnnd it's gone again.

My point for two plus years has been make a GREAT coupe first and then a Camaro. What they did was make a GREAT Camaro first and some things, important to me and some others, were traded away.

And this isn't an argument. GM did this, told us they did this, so the fact the car is smaller in the trunk and rear seat isn't up for debate. It's just a matter of whether that impacts sales or not. For me? It doesn't add up as a DD. Smaller Trunk, Smaller Rear Seat, Crappy visibility. All things that could have been made better on the Gen6 but weren't. Those 3 things are more important to me than weighing less than a Mustang.

And that, my friends, is one guys opinion.
I'm with you.. we drove to Wendover a few times with my wife's cousin and a friend in back. They're small so were perfectly comfortable, though I was pushed forward a bit.
In the gen6.. Nope. Not going to happen.

Originally they had more complicated names for the vehicle colors. Hyper Blue Metallic was "Blue Me Away". They ultimately went with the basic names.

Thanks! This is so helpful. I have a car enthusiast 6 year old and wanted to be sure he'll fit fine in the back with the booster. Cheers!

The Sun of a Gun color comes from some of the early names of the car colors before the final names were landed on.

There is an old thread here that shows them all. For instance, Hyper Blue was "Blew Me Away Blue".

Also, not that it matters, but some people just like to sit differently than others.

I like to sit a little closer to the wheel than most I've noticed. My wife, while basically just as tall as I am, likes to sit a bit closer still (although, its not what anyone should consider too close, as to be downright dangerous if the airbag pops off)

I've noticed when others drive my vehicles, even if they are right around my height, like to push the seat back further. Then when I get in, my legs feel like they are stretched out far...and I can't stand it.

I'm not tall at 5' 10", but not what I'd consider short either...maybe average or somewhat under.
