Hennessey Dynos 6th gen SS at 431hp/427tq (32 hp higher than its Stingray)

Assuming they are correcting for the weather, it seems like a big difference. What do you guys think?

2014 Stringray's were under tuned so the difference is normal. Assuming weather and other parameters are very identical to each pulls.

That was a dynojet, still sounds oddball high. HPE said in the comments he would post an acceleration video, I'm looking forward to it.

It's Hennessey.

I can't think of a less reliable source for ANYthing.

I wouldn't buy ink toner from him.

They have nothing to gain from giving higher numbers for stock cars. If they really are as disreputable as some say, they would want to give lower stock numbers, so it looks like a bigger gain when they come out with their HPE500, 700 etc. Either way the point was the difference between the Stingray and the SS, assuming all other variables were the same, honesty included.

Very good arguments. I can't help but rail on Hennessey any time their name comes up. IMO, if you can't trust them for some things, you can't trust them for ANY thing.

Wow, highest dyno so far by a lot. Must be uncorrected standard numbers?

Could just be looking for internet clicks. Would anyone care if they got the same numbers everyone else has been getting?

I am going to chalk this up as an over inflated dyno correcting a bit to much on their numbers.

But hey, never hurts to keep watching new pulls

Where did you pull that info from?

I beg to differ...

They are SAE rated the same every model year so far.

The fastest stock c6 on the corvette forums is actually a 2014 A6 running an 11.3-4 IIRC.

I would sooner think that particular 14 might have had some of the metal in oil filter problems and metal shavings from improper block honing that some of the 14's experienced....hurting its numbers. IDK.
Other than that both running properly the lt1 and its output haven't changed from year to year.

But hey...if you've got some solid proof id love to see it!

I agree it looks high....but...if you read the comment section of the video Hennessey replies and defends the numbers. He claims it is common for the new Camaro to out dyno the corvette from what he has seen....just saying

Did they just carry over the certification from the corvette?

On what planet do tri-y headers not produce more hp than manifolds?

I wouldn't be that shocked to see the Camaro making better numbers...it sure looks like it so far...
This is the second 430rwhp dyno I have heard of.

They been saying all along the past few years team Camaro is team Camaro...corvette will not hold them back. Maybe we should believe them....who knows.

Corvettes usually dyno a little lower. Their transaxle/rear set up sucks up a little more power on a dyno. Their lighter weight, even with similar power helps them pull ahead in the real world though.

Yes, the Camaro LT1 was not SAE certified, the certification was carried over from the Vette.
