If anyone knows a good video tutorial on exactly what to do, I can get them measured in the morning.
I wasn't that close huh haha.

HERE is a guide on "how to" measure wheels.

The problem also is that you gotta measure it with no tires on em to get all the measurements. With the tires already on, you cannot get all measurements done.

Oh well screws the pooch for me. I did ask the guys who swapped out my tires if they could do it and they just kinda laughed. Didn't to push. It was bad enough I had to leave my baby for a few hours with car guys, I put it in valet mode thinking hopefully that would trick them into thinking they couldn't drive fast. Thankfully they didn't do anything crazy just drove in the parking lot.

LOL. Yeah... I am thankful the valet mode exists but still am damn disappointed/sad than we didn't get PDR offered because you bet that I would've gotten it. As it also records everything in Valet Mode too not just when you want to.

apparently that is really common

i read on the stang forums where a guy came back to pick up his car for window repair and 30 miles were added

I just don't understand how people could do that. THIRTY miles

Not 100% sure what the camaro does, I could check it out next time I drive the car but to give you an example: Speed limited to 30 mph, Rpm limited to 2/3k etc. Vette PDR not only does sets limiters but also video records the whole thing.

I think about a year ago some techs blew up a guys brand new shelby gt500... He had hidden cams in the car and you could hear the techs cursing the owners head off all while doing burnouts, launches etc...

One thing I have learned is... if you really have to leave your vehicle for any reason at the service dept, make sure you take a picture of your odometer with date and showing the dealership AND when you pick it up (if there is inconsistencies). That way, you have an upper hand in any legal battle.

If I had any issues that were problematic... Techs would actually ride with me and listen/feel the issue OR I would be sitting next to them.

People are envious evil creatures... The people who do shit like that also smears crap on the good, hardworking techs.

Can't find anything specific. Only thing I think is glovebox, radio maybe trunk.

Took my 1SS to Discount Tire

So I picked up my 2016 1SS last night and took it to Discount Tire first thing this morning.

I have a set of the 18" black steelies that came on the 5th Gen LS model. (I believe they are 7.5" wide) We tried one on for size (front only). Technically it does fit, but there was only about 1/8" clearance (maybe less) to the face of th caliper, and it was pretty tight in the back up top by the suspension. I opted NOT to use those, too close for comfort. (Yes, a spacer would probably take care of all of that, but I did think of that when i was there, so I didn't think to ask).

They grabed a 18x8 with +35 offset Aluminum wheel (Koni I believe) that fit real nice, LOTS of clearance for everything... so there is one answer: 18" are no problem on the SS. They mounted up a Cooper tire (not sure what model number) size 235/60/18. I believe that was the most popular size snow tire on the 5th gens... unfortunately it is too tall: it rubs the strut. He offered to do a little more research for me, so i could take off and he'd call when he had more info. He called back a little later and thought the best bet would be those same rims with a Bridgestone (Blizzak) 225/55/18. I started thinking about how that would look, and asked if we could stager the tires and maybe go with something a little wider in the back. He figured he could do a 245/50/18 in the back. Although, after I asked, I'd think I'd rather be able to rotate my winter wheels and get as many miles/years out of them as possible.

He said if I wasn't in a rush to wait a week or two and see if anyone came out with different/better numbers. So, I'm doing exactly that... driving real slow to work in the morning when it's cold out, and waiting to see if anyone comes up with something different. Unless it snows... then I'll stay home and "call in slick".

Thanks for the post. I have the same 18" steelies with Blizzaks on my current 2LT. I figured they would not fit this car, and it's nice to have confirmation of that. I'll be looking into doing the same thing, 18" winter wheel setup.

My plan for this winter is I should be taking delivery of my vehicle sometime between February and March, the dealership is working with me to swap out the summer tires for all seasons of my choice, then buy back the summer set. I should be able to get by on all seasons for the remainder of the winter and have a proper setup by next year.

Are these Blizzaks pretty good?

They worked good for me for the past three winters, really no complaints. It would be nice to have better traction on ice, but I think the only fix for that is to go with studded tires. Which I might do for my next set.

I never got stuck, I had a couple times where I had to back out, but never actually got stuck where I had to dig my car out. Always managed to find traction.

Woah, so with spacers the steelies should work? How do spacers work anyway?

Konig makes wheels.
Koni makes shocks.

They are not related.
