They both will have their pros and cons I'm sure. The biggest for me is fitment in the drivers seat... being 6'5" 280 lbs I did not fit well in my Camaro and probably wouldn't have been much more comfortable in the 16' but the Challenger is huge inside and I love that about it

I just have emails, and an email from the GM telling me what he would give me off, and saying he would rather lose the money than lose me as a customer, nothing with a 100% certain dollar amount. Funny how quick he changed his mind about what his priorities were..

Nice replacement. So long it's a muscle car, that would make me a happy camper too. However, I am Camaro guy and will wait patiently for my muscle Camaro. Enjoy your ride, Sir.

For the record, here is a copy/pasted email from him last month.....

Jacob~
I have now heard back from 2 of our DSM’s. The vehicle hasn’t been added to the supplier program during October because there was no production in October. Once production begins in November, they are confident that the car will be added to the program. I will tell you that even when the Corvette first came out and they were on major constraint, we were allowed to sell them via the employee purchase. I believe that you will be fine, the difference between invoice and employee price is usually about 2%; I would rather lose the 2% than lose you as a customer. Please rest assured that we will do all we can to help you. By mid-week next week, we should see the 2016 program released and all will be well.

No clue that production began in October.

Got to love how informed these guys are.

Six months went by from the C7 start of regular production before Program Pricing became available and another couple weeks before Les Stanford Chevrolet was the first dealer to accept Program Pricing for the C7.

And it's faster and better looking than the Mustang at least.

OP sorry to hear about this. Can definitely understanding you not wanting to wait any longer with no ride. What options did you get? M6 or A8?

Man sucks about the dealer screwing you over like that but congratz on the new ride anyhow! Always thought the Challenger was a great looking and performing car, especially considering its weight. Enjoy the new ride and if its more comfortable to drive than a Camaro then I would have more than likely gone that route too.

3. Their excuse was that employee pricing was not available on the 2016, my response was I don't care what pricing is available, you quoted me a dollar amount and confirmed that dollar amount for the last 10 weeks, and I made it 100% clear in early September I could only spend 'X' amount on the car. After that, the GM and sales manager kept ducking my questions and became very evasive.

I walked into dodge, told them I wanted the Challenger for $3000 off MSRP, they didn't haggle, they didn't counter offer. We shook hands and did the paperwork. It was just like a car buying experience should be.
Congrats but I think you left money on the table. Aren't you wondering what they would have said if you wanted $5000 off of MSRP? They could have said yes or maybe said no but we can do $4000 off and some free oil changes, etc. 10% off a $40k plus muscle car in the winter months would not be unreasonable. Everyone usually has a number in their head that they want to pay. You had one at $43.5k for the new Camaro. In your mind the Scat pak was worth $3000 off MSRP, but you could and should always aim for more discount. Worse they can say is no and you start working your way back up.

Anyway, enjoy the car, it is sharp.

So you walked away from a SRE Camaro because of $2400 then went and got a Dodge that was already sitting on the lot during Black friday and only got $3k off MSRP? Sounds like you never really wanted that Camaro in the 1st place.

I was already slightly over budget with the Camaro @ 43.5k. A few bucks turns into a few more bucks and then a few more bucks but you have to draw the line somewhere... and I drew the line @ $43,500. I didn't even pay much more over what employee rate is @ dodge... They had it stickered @ $50k, MSRP of 47K and I paid 44k, invoice was 44k.

Yes $44k is more than 43.5k but I also didn't have to travel 6 hours to get it (gas, rental car) and I got a 1% better interest rate.
