Maybe it will be like the 5thGen after all.....ZL1 first, then a 1LE option for the SS, then a Z/28...who knows....

Maybe we're all getting too far ahead of ourselves with these videos...I hope we hear something "official" pretty soon....
Agreed!!! Know one knows... We are arguing on what ifs... Lol!!

Or can the NA motor get to 550 Hp safely, and cleanly, and provide the addition power a Z/28 needs?

In other words, in a world of assumptions, assuming they completely scrapped the motor and it will never return doesn't make sense. Al O already said he sees the next Z/28 as a NA small displacement high RPM powered car. And as much as they fought against FI the last go round, I could see them waiting to use the Z/28 name for a fitting NA car.
All good questions, unfortunately no one knows the answer.

Exactly, I had to force myself to down shift sooner than I wanted to just to compensate for the delay when pulling back on the paddle.

Back to the OP, I'm on the fence now about getting a great deal on a left over or lightly used 5th Gen 1LE in the spring or wait for the 6th Gen 1LE which at best, we would see about this time next year. The 6th Gen to me is just a refined 5th Gen. They have finessed and reworked all the little nuances to really make something that was really good, exceptionally better. I personally like the styling of both.

I have a hunch we will see one or both of these cars at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

Fingers crossed. That might help make my decision.

Wait. The 6th gen is going to be much better, plus the 5th gen interior is pretty terrible. I am most likely going to wait for a 1LE myself...

Is 1le good for daily driving? I would not track my car often, maybe just once to try it out. But I don't want to feel wanting with my next car. SS is the next step up for me, but want to get the 1le.

Thank You! Just wondering if the suspension is too stiff for daily commute and also for long drives. Manual Transmission is not an issue.

That's why they have to make fast models, keeps the market going.
Great point.

That's the reason for every manufacturer producing a Halo car, even though it only results in very low sales volume. And much of the technology trickles down the model/variant chain.

Could be a Z/28, who knows if they will even continue the 1LE seeing as the SS has a lot of options you can add.

Talking

I wish that is a 1LE and hope it comes out very soon to get my hands on one.
Wider wheels and tires will be great specially to reduce that understeer mentioned on recent publications. Also some great looking Recaros or Competition seats will made my day, rear blade spoiler option and to be also available with the A8 transmission but with improved ventilation. Please GM don't make us wait for a Camaro that will kick GT350 ass.:firs t:

Agree completely ( except for A8 :P)

I'm hoping it gets released earl air in this generations cycle since the GT350 is already out with all those options

I don't know why everyone keeps talking about the 1LE as if it's a separate model. It's just the code for a handling package for the SS. It's always been just an option code. The PP setup on the Mustang doesn't keep the GT350(R) from existing and they could do another GT500 to compete with the ZL1 if they chose. There's still plenty of room for a pair of Z cars if Chevy decided to go that way again.

I agree, but it's a more involved package then the PP on the Mustang. Biggest reason I think the talk is the way it is, is that rumors are it may become it's own model in itself...will see.
