I made a last-ditch request to a friend of mine in GM to ask the Camaro team for fitment numbers.
He did. Now, we wait. --kC |

Back to wheel fitment / brake caliper clearance...
I was thinking... ATS-V comes with 4 piston Brembo. So I went onto ATS-V forum to see what they are using for winter wheels. They are using 18 wheels for 255/45/18 tires. I know it will be different off-set for us, different overall diameter tires, etc... (255/45/18 is little too small, comparing to Camaro stock tires. Would be still drive-able, but wheel speed won't be correct. If 18" will work, I want to go with 245/50/18 all around if possible) All I wanted to check was IF the 4 piston brembo will clear 18 or not. According to what I saw, it will. I'm checking with a friend at Brembo, to see if Camaro's 4 piston and ATS-V's 4 piston are same (or at least dimension wise). If 18" will clear, it will open up much more option for us when it comes to winter wheels/tires. I know there are winter tires for OE stock tires size for Camaro, but I don't want to spend $1,600 just for winter tires, if I can avoid it.

One question:
LTs can be ordered with Brembo upgrade, which I believe is to 4 piston front caliper, right? Do all of them have to be ordered 20" wheels or can you order Brembo upgrade, while you keep 18" wheels? If that's allowed, that will answer 18" fitment question.

Yeah... I just went onto Chevy.com to try building LT with Brembo upgrade. RS package had to be added.
Don't give up on 18" just yet. (or at least 19") As I mentioned above, ATS-V clears 18" wheels with Brembo, so if they are same calipers (or same size calipers), we should be able to fit 18". (may need spacer, depending on off-set of the wheels)

Also there is a 20" black wheel option at $800, originally only for the 2LT but looking at the updated guide, perhaps for both LT lines. Either the WRS or the RTH wheels are required for the $485 HD Cooling/Braking option BUT the pricing post indicates it is available for $1285 absent WRS and RTH.
I expect there are some after market 18" wheels that will work but to find them will be a trial and error endeavor and a patient tire/wheel retailer. Laborsmith |

Tire Rack can be conservative, which is why I like Discount. My local Discount Tire store will try wheels until one that fits over the calipers is found.
But if Tire Rack says a choice will work you can be pretty certain it will. Laborsmith |

Ok... here is what my friend told me. ATS-V has 6 piston front (I don't know why I thought it had 4 piston) and still clears 18 inch wheels.
If 18 doesn't fit on Camaro, it would be due to other reasons, not the calipers.
