A spare tire won't fit very well in the trunk and allow anything else. Hence, the run flat. Started in the Corvette.

They are wider then that and have a better offset. Plus a 305 on a 9.5" wheel is pushing it big time. These aren't the same wheels...

Also for this gen 1LE I would like to see a rear seat delete option ala boss 302 or Gt350.

With a smooth looking visible rear strut tower brace in the trunk or maybe back seat visible ala boss 302 LS.
Mustang fans will cry foul.

One under the hood in front while they are at it.

The fact that the C7 guys can install a set of long tube headers, tune, and hit 450 at the wheels, I'd say that GM was being very conservative with the factory calibrations. I imagine that once improvements are made with the Gen V platform, output will increase.

I am sure that suspension upgrades such as spring and dampers along with more contact with 285s all around would make big improvements over the standard SS. I am still waiting for Chevy to back up the claim that the standard 2016 SS is better on the track than the 2015 1LE, I don't think it will be unless they select a comparison track with very long straights.

Rumor has it that the 455 is an underrated number, there's been some dynos showing it should be a little higher.

Unless it is inside the 1% variation it is impossible as it was certified by the SAE.

I don't understand why people keep thinking this. I work in the auto industry, and work with SAE certified engineers and all the certification means is that all the engines need to make at least that number. Not that they couldn't make slightly more...

Keep in mind that emissions and CAFE requirements are only going to continue to get more strict. Many of the advancements in powertrain technology go towards meeting these requirements while at least maintaining, and if we're lucky, improving performance. Get rid of the emissions and fuel saving provisions and that leaves plenty of room for these engines to make more power.
