Like I said in a previous post, Camaro looked to the enthusiasts, asked what they wanted. . . and delivered.

Mustang opted to aim at "the masses" while making the enthusiasts pay for higher tier Mustang options e.g. the GT350.

Neither approach is bad and let's be honest, neither car is bad. One performs better in a set of metrics, as a sports car, and one performs better in a whole other set of metrics, as a touring car.
The masses? As in the VW Beatle? I read that Ford benchmarked BMW and Porsche for the S550 yet its strength is the ability to spec a low contented cheap version. Option it up and the price gap shrinks but the performance gap does not

In it's 5th gen the Camaro was the sales leader. Chevy built on that successful styling, improved the interior, added tech (like HUD, Apple Play, etc.), delivered class leading performance, a chassis on par with BMW and options like mag ride that were previously only available on line toping models.

Another thing... Not you, but many criticize the Camaro's evolutionary styling yet the S550 is just another interpretation of the 1967 body style.

Love IT!!!!!!!!

The mustang's front grille looks like a guppy fish's mouth on steroids.

People have been complaining about BMW leather for years. Something about it looks plasticky. You have to move up to the higher trims or 7 series to et the semi aniline dyed leather.

To put this 0-100 mph time of 9 seconds in perspective: my 3400 lb 1987 IROCZ 215 hp TPI with 5 speed and optional LSD and 3.45 gears did 0-100mph in 18 seconds. We've come a long way.

I just don't understand why we can't have an interior like this:

Oh wait, that car demands $350,000

BUT, I agree with you about the 3-series (and by extension, my own 2-series). I still think that, albeit not as "wow" as the Camaro's, the soft touch plastics on the dash of the Bimmer do make for a "better" interior. I also have the (fake) wood appliqué in my car, which IMO looks nicer than the metal trims.

Again, I am not complaining about the 6th gen interior at all. I'm ok with it having hard plastics where it's reported to have them. I just took issue with whoever said the interior was better than a BMW/Audi's.
I have sat in both the 2 series and the 2016 Camaro and agree the 2 series has a better quality interior. The sport seats are some of the best seats I've sat in. The Camaro seats aren't that bad either but not as comfortable compared to the 2 series.

I still like the Camaros interior more than that Rolls Royce ^^ (even though that's more luxury oriented while the Camaro's interior is more performance oriented)

Also can we please stop trash talking the Mustang? We all have to admit it's better than JDM and Euro cars so why tear down the same people who love muscle cars too but like a slightly different one more. I understand it's a competition and both muscle cars make each other better but I don't think anyone should say something bad about another American muscle car.

My biggest gripe is not the quality of the interior which is good, but that Honda Civics come better equipped standard, and BMW loves to hold features back only to the high series (like 5 and 7 series) cars. I mean it's a shame the '16 2SS comes better equipped and better performance than any of the 2,3 or 4 series cars. They have become a middle of the road car, existing in neither luxury or performance.

I'm exact opposite. I thought the wood looked cheap and out of place. I've got the aluminum trim which I was glad is actually real aluminum.

The new 2016 BMW 7-Series interior is amazing. So is the weight loss. The exterior styling is a miss though IMO.

Far too often have I seem this. From all kinds of forums (GMI, FIN, M6G, C5, Challengertalk, SVTP, LS1tech, etc. all of which I post or have posted on) where some people feel that in order to actually enjoy the car of their choice, they also have to hate it's competition and not appreciate that that competition is even there.

Then it gets to a point where they even openly claim to hate the people who even drive them, attempting at every turn to belittle them in some twisted way to "elevate" their own position. I'll stop before this turns into some kind of rant.

So I digress, we have the best performing American Pony cars that have ever been built, no matter what logo rests in the grill, drive it, enjoy it, love it. That's what they're there for.

Oh please. Nitrous doesn't even count. It isn't "real power." It's a cheat. You can send Honda's into the 11's with a big enough shot if the motor holds. I'm really anti-nitrous
