Anybody ordered after 9/10?

I was curious if anybody here has placed an order after 9/10 that has been accepted by GM? My dealer says that GM hasn't "picked up" my order yet, which was placed on 9/10. Sounds like they are still waiting for an allocation? I'm trying to figure out if I need to check with another dealer at this point.

That is because they lack allocation. They can't submit your order until GM assigns them allocation to match it to. If you want, find another dealer who has allocation or wait it out with your current dealer.

Thanks. Not sure if they have any idea of when they are getting an allocation, but I'll check. I would like to work with this dealer, but I don't want to wait 2 months for them to be able to place the order.

I placed my order on 9/24, it is currently 3000 status. At the time my dealer said they had plenty of allocations. Sounds like you need to talk to another dealer.

I ordered 11/1. Today I went 3000. I was the first 2016 Camaro order at my dealership.

I ordered mine on 9/11. I'm currently at order status 3400 with my build next week, hopefully!

I ordered on 9/17 tpw 11/23 found out tuesday status 3000

I think this happened because it was a v6. Remember hearing that v6 got more allocations than ss's and were going to be built more in the first two weeks. ALthough I think there is a hold on the first two week allocations for quality control.

A V6 SRE (retail customer) order has a better chance of being pulled. In the long run about 1/3 of the Camaro builds will be V8 equipped. Probably even now in the short run.

2000 = Pulled. My longheld interpretation.

Once at 2000 movement will be based on what options are in the order and build mix.

My dealer had allocations that were "dealer filled for inventory" prior to my order. None of their orders fit my list of wants. So, I requested my order placed SRE based upon the advice of the good people here.

Just like Laborsmith said - V6 SRE. I just went 2000 status 10/9. Unsure if it was due to being SRE or because the dealer got additional allocation.
