No real surprise there, I think.

Whether GM was gaming the system or not with regard to the EPA testing (I don't think they were), after the ignition recall, who can blame them for taking an extra step or two to make doubly sure they won't be tarred by the same brush that VW's getting hit with?

That's why I don't think GM is gaming things now, or in the relatively recent past. After one recall fiasco that wouldn't leave the news cycle, it's just courting disaster to leave the company exposed to another, even amrginally so.

Does the Colorado diesel use DEF? If so I can see no reason for a delay.

Love the look. With the right power, gearing and traction devices that would be really interesting.

Simply ensuring that all the i's are dotted & t's are crossed is enough to delay things.

The Duramax engines in the HD trucks do, so I would assume this one does as well.

The effects of Volkswagen's long-running diesel emissions evasion are starting to spill over to other automakers, but General Motors is taking things in stride. The 2.8-liter, four-cylinder Duramax in the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon is the first engine to get extra scrutiny by the Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board, Automotive News reports. Rather than just the usual in-lab test, it's also being checked on the road. However, the extra evaluation shouldn't have any impact on when the trucks with his mill hit dealers later this fall.

That's what i'm waiting on to replace my aging 2005 Colorado. I'm afraid it'll be 40K when I price it out though.

A lot of guys watched their TPW's go back on their diesel orders by two weeks because of all this Volkswagon diesel bs. So that's another two weeks we have to wait. :(

If you're getting a crew cab then yes, you'll definitely be sporting a 40+. Didn't they price the diesel as a 3500 ish dollar option?

Yes they do. Behind the fuel door. Which is where the full size HD's should have got it too. But they still have them under the hood. Which is totally convenient
