Isn't the bone stock ls2 record high 11 range?
It's just a catback and tune, but I'd also put a tune on the Camaro so.....

My guess is they would be close. But the Vette is likely going to "feel" faster if that makes sense.

If the 6th gen is anything like the 5th, it really takes away much of your immediate road view and makes you look farther up the road, and that makes things feel a bit slower.

I will never forget the first time I went WOT in the Vette getting on an on ramp and the way it slammed my head back into the seat.

I won't forget the second time it did it either, after I installed my tune and everything was a little tighter and faster.

If the Camaro throws it back, I guess I'll know.

They lowered the dash line in the 6th gen. I really hope forward visibility and sense of speed is better in this car compared to the 5th. What you just stated was half the reason I got bored with my 2010.

Oh man. Performance (in a straight line) is basically completely equal. I wonder how it is around a track.

I wouldn't go so far as to say equal. We are talking a couple tenths 0 - 60 and in the 1/4 mile. The Corvette also has some pretty epic hero runs....we'll see what Camaro can do.

I dunno. Pretty equal from where I sit. I have an '07, so it's "only" got the 400hp LS2.

New camaro:
4.3 & 12.5 @ 115mph manual; 4.0 & 12.3 @ 116mph auto (0-60 & 1/4 mile)

C6 Corvette:
4.2 & 12.215 @ 115.45mph (Fastest 1/4 for an '05-'07 on the forums)

^The above obviously giving credence to your hero runs. I stopped visiting this site for a while because I had decided to just keep the C6, but this may get me back to considering. I might just put the Vette up for sale next spring at a slightly high price and let fate decide.

That's funny I've been leaning to getting a c6 since you can get a ls2 for under 25k (depending on miles of corse) and about the same Peformance wise as the new Camaro

C6 Z51 manual (LS2) runs 12.7 in the quarter from the mag reviews. Didn't see any auto times. The 6th gen will definitely be faster. Whether you consider 2 tenths worth the difference, another story.

I guess the LS3 C6s should be pretty even then with the 6th gen SS. Stated mag times will probably be similar (low 12s) but I bet the fastest owner recorded ones will still belong to LS3 C6s.

LS3 C6=6th gen SS >LS2 C6.
That's how I see it in both published testing and private. There will be high 11 second bone stock 6th gen 8spd SS cars. Mark my words. LS3 C6 vs 6th gen SS will be super close in just about every performance measurement.

C7 Vette > 6th Gen Camaro SS > C6 Vette (LS2/LS3)

C7 Vette will beat the 2016 Camaro down the 1/4 mile, but I would predict the 2016 Camaro vs C6 Vette to be a very close race. I would give the edge to the Camaro by a slim margin of .1 to .2 though.

Sense of speed is much better in the 6th gen Camaro!!! One of my biggest gripes with the 5th gen was it didn't feel I was accelerating quickly due to the weight of the car.
