Lmao exactly! If the new SS meets the outgoing 1le on the track, why on earth would there not be a 1le to outperform the SS?? Is the outgoing 1le the epitome of performance? No! Each generation is supposed to get better, hence there will most definitely be aa 1le that is even more track focused than the ss.

Upgrading is great for each model and I think that is what they did for the SS...include or make available performance, 1LE type options....If there is more to make a 1LE, fine...but you'd be getting way more expensive and close to what might go into a Z/28....Maybe I'm wrong, wouldn't be the first time... |

This is more likely than saying the SS performs so well there won't be a 1LE. As mentioned by everyone. MRC is a great compromise suspension. It gives comfort when needed and can stiffen up when needed. But it still is not a competition suspension. There is still room for a 1LE if for no reason other than the base 350. The same reason it came to be in the 5th gen, the Boss cars. I just it can be in the same model year this time so Ford can't pull the "it's out of production" bs again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The 1LE doesn't need MRC or the 8 speed. If you want MRC and the 8 speed, get an SS.

The Ford guys will be falling all over themselves pointing out that the Camaro isn't selling well...Knowing full well that the base model is not available at launch. |

as far as the argument going about there not being a 1LE for this gen, I believe that to be correct too, A LOT of people would have been just fine and happy to have the Z/28 be the SS w/1LE package and the LT7...GM went waaayyy overboard and did everything else to it and put it in the 75K range and lost a lot of sales due to the price tag. Its not like they really wanted to sell that many Z/28's anyway, that would have jacked with their CAFE #'s...so all in all I am saying, this is the Z/28 and there will be no reason for a 1LE package with this gen because with the performance of the SS, there really is no need for it.

Are you guys even realizing what is happening? They are going to be quicker to market with the ZL1 1LE variants than the previous 5th gen. The 5th gen RS and SS started arriving in Spring of '09 with the ZL1 arriving early '12 and the 1LE's arriving late '12. I think it's fantastic they are developing the performance variants before the RS and SS models are even hitting the dealer lots. I already have my eye on the 1LE!
It's just like the hype of the 5th gen all over again.

I agree. GM raised the bar big time with the 1LE and Z/28. The 1LE being more affordable and the Z/28 being the all out hardcore track weapon. Then: Z/28>1LE>Boss 302 Laguna Seca Now (hopefully): Z/28>GT350R>1LE>GT350 Again, GM raised the bar and Ford responded. Big Time. GM cannot afford to hold the Z/28 and 1LE too long.
