Also I'm positive mustang will only allow the 9 speaker system in the premium model. Camaro allows the new Bose system as a option I'm sure. Some people will argue for price GT offers decent package. Thats true but for few thousand extra you are getting improved SS which will have best of all worlds. It will sound like a muscle car but handle really well and more sporty vibe to it. The upgrades will make it fun in daily driving and twisties. Hence probably draw in import consumer base as well.

Here's the thing tho, I am at the point where a car like a Camaro or Mustang I don't want/need all the tech stuff, fancy interior gadgets. I am fine with the cloth interior and standard options. My problem with the 6th gen now is this. A 6th Gen SS with auto is going to cost me over 40K OTD once taxes are figured in. In my mind I have a hard time justifying paying 40K for car that the only option is the automatic transmission.

Sales will do fine on it being a "new" Camaro. The special editions and hi-po models will come in the next few years, to keep the excitment up.

Hell, if they played their whole hand as soon as the gates opened what would keep people buying cars 5 or 6 years into gen 6...paint/sticker packages?
I haven't seen either models, but the flat crank is a game changer; how reliable and durable it'll be with 8,000rpm shift points is anyone's guess. At ~520 crank HP, it's an answer to the 392 hemi at the strip (linelock?) and the Z28 (when ever it arrives).

Not having a crystal ball, but what will be Chevy's response should the flat crank engine make it to the Mustang GT as an option?

I think that at some point, we will see a turbo V6 in a Camaro package. It might not be the answer to the flat crank Ford, but it will be a badass engine in a very fast Camaro.

I don't believe we'll see the FPC in a GT. More than likely the Voodoo's displacement will happen, as well as some of, but not all of, the 5.2's lightweight internals. PTWA will make that part easy. Actually with a little bit of a stroke (3.7mm) from 92.7 to 96.4 we could see 5.4l.

As for TT-V6's I have no doubt by the end of the 6th gens we'll see the 3.5EB in a Mustang, possibly in a Mach1 trim. Camaro could quite easily use the 3.6TT in a standalone RS trim, seeing as it's not available initially for gen 6.

Many people want the newest Toy, Some buy what others buy, Some have no patience to wait. That group is in Debt most of the time and upside down on their deals.

I was back and forth Boss 302 . 1LE, Nismo, 6G GTPP... Then the wife said you did mustangs for 25 years and in that time 1 camaro ss. You always talk about the should of kept the SS. Then it was Nismo vs 1LE, then a buddy said. In 20 years you could live in england and go to auto part store and they would have a sensor for a LS3. Because all LS motors use the same parts.

So now since the spawn of GM is stating the new 6G camaro is quicker then a 6G mustang, plus a 5th gen camaro is still faster then a 6G mustang. Why would you go buy a 6G mustang.

All good opinions guys, I am looking forward to magazine reviews/impressions. My point is if the SS becomes a much funner car in the streets/twisties while offering more or just as much power as competitors(Mustang, Challenger, Charger) it will be worth the extra price in my opinion. I want to see its driving personality, a mixture between import Si handling and large amount of V8 power sounds very nice. It looks very refined, and hopefully very fun in day to day driving as well, not just in straights.

LT1 has way more HP/tq all the way across rpm curve until after 7000rpm, and that comes stock with the 1SS

So Chevy already has its answer, and they haven't even pulled out the LT4 yet...

If the 5.2 fpc qas offered in a GT, for under 40k... I think you'd get a lot of takers.

Over that and I think it loses some appeal. Curious to see what new-old package will come next.

A ridiculous GT500 or a mid level Mach 1-type.

If I were a betting man, GT350 will run for '15-'18. Before that run is done I'd imagine well see a Zxx Camaro with LT4. Then perhaps even with some slight overlap with GT350 an '18 GT500. '19 will more than likely bring an MCE and a specialty trim, Mach1 hopefully seeing as it's debut date was '69.

Apparently the 8 speed auto will get 0-60 in 4.1 sec and 12.1 quarter mile....those are some nice numbers. Daddy Camaro not gonna be nice, lmao.

I see this comment made on here way too much and it isn't true. The Gen 5 Camaro at no point was faster than either the S197 5.0 or S550 5.0 Mustang. In a few tests the ET may have come close but even then the Mustang trapped a few mph higher.

So, will Camaro be sticking with the 8-speed?

Because as far as the rumor mill is concerned, Mustang will follow Raptor by a year in implementing the new 10-speed.

Who knows, but the difference between an 8 speed and a 10 speed is a lot smaller than the difference between a 6 speed and an 8 speed.

8 speed or 10 speed whats the difference? The extra gears are over drive for better mpg... having extra gears doesn't help in the quarter mile.

All you need to know is the new SS can do 0-60 in 4.0 seconds. Goodbye Slowmaro hello SlowStang?
