True or False: Manuals only getting "Limited Slip Differentials"

I think this was already talked about but last night I was bored and was browsing the 2016 Camaro on the Chevy website and decided to "Live Chat" with a Chevy Rep and thought about asking about the "Limited Slip" for the Automatics and the Chevy "Live Chat" Rep stated that and I quote, "only the manuals will get the Limited Slip, the 1SS/2SS Automatic will not be getting a Limited Slip" ............. Could this be serious ??? or a big error ??

The order guide shows it standard with every SS, so I'd tend to believe that, and the press release which stated it for manuals only I'd guess was wrong.

If true, it would seem like a huge mistake to me. I think its bad enough that once again, like the 5th gen V6 auto, the 6th gen V6 auto gets a open diff. That sucks.

OK...I have further proof.

Just looked at my workbench order on my car (which is a 1SS automatic). It lists the G80 limited slip differential.

I think the order guide says the limited slip is available on V6 manuals only... but is standard on all SS models..

I mentioned about it being a typo but the rep stated he clarified that "only manuals are getting Limited Slips, All Autos will not be getting a Limited Slip", I think he is wrong but you never know ....

See my 2nd post above. Automatic SS gets it also.

Chevy Chat and Customer Care are great people, I do know a few and have met several others, but they are for the most part not car people. That said, KMPrenger is correct about what the order guide states and until we have actual regular builds in hand to say otherwise, I will go with the order guide.

It has been discussed here in another thread, and as others have stated...LT I4 and V6 manual only gets the limited slip differential, auto does not, and all SS get the limited slip differential.

If the SS got a open diff. You would never get a good launch, then you would look like Cheech and Chong. Up in smoke with only one wheel!
