I know I would pay Randy to drive drive a new production track car. Name recognition and respect across the industry. I'm eager to see what the new benchmark will be.

Off subject, anyone getting Forza 6? The GT350R will be available for VIP members. Looking forward to building/driving one, and the '15 Z/28 of course.

Please, get out of car games and get out on an actual track!

I don't have that money to buy a GT350 and GT350R like you. Or a track that close to enjoy. I live vicariously through you guys lol.

Hey now nothing wrong with doing both. There isn't many track days left since winter is coming....

So it seems you have to choose between the track pack or the tech pack but you can't have both. Sorry if repost. On the other site it seems alot of potential gt350 owners were very confused and a bit upset by this.

My understanding is to really get both you need to get the R and the Tech package. Which is understandably not a reasonable jump.

My opinion is if you are buying a track car, get the Track package you don't need the Tech one. If you are buying a hi-po cruiser, get the Tech since you aren't likely to ever see a track.

This is what we were told about Z51 Corvettes as well. Unfortunately that is not the case in the real world. I am glad the Gen6 Camaro took steps to keep the car cool when it is used on the track and learned from Corvettes mistakes.

The new Car&Driver Lightning Lap said that the Z06 was tested in 100 degree weather, and no mention of any heat issues. Perhaps GM has addressed the issues? Or perhaps a few laps isn't enough for the issues to show up. But in any case, both mustangs (turbo 4 and V8 GT) had heat issues according to the review.

The Z06/Z07 Corvette used at VIR had the 7-speed manual transmission. The overheating occurring in both the Z06 and Z51 Corvettes has been with the 8 speed automatic cars. The Z06's have a horizontally mounted cooler just after the radiator and a larger cooler in the rear. 2014 and 2015 Z51's with A8's did not get the addition cooler behind the radiator and have a smaller cooler in the rear. 14 and 15 Z51's used on the track tend to overheat fairly quickly. In 2016 Z51's with auto transmissions get the horizontal cooler from the Z06. Corvettes with manual 7 speed transmissions have had very few problems and the rev match is great to have on the track.

Initial statements seem to indicate that the Gen6 Camaros will have additional coolers available to keep the cars cool. Until the cars are tested on the tracks around the country during the summer heat, we won't know for sure how well they keep their cool.

Wondering where the GT 350 and 350R will fall into Laguna Seca lap times.
Many of the records are held by the magazines. And a bunch from Randy Pobst.

I'm wondering the same thing. I think the GT350R has a good shot of 1:36xx.

Has Laguna been repaved since 2013? I'm wondering how a Z06 is so close to a 918 Spider. All wheel drive and over 200 more hp than the Z06 should surely be worth more than 1 second around Laguna...
