Garnet red with adrenaline red interior! That is what I ordered...I had a '98 SS, awesome car, but I agree, the brakes left a lot to be desired, lots of fun that car was!

I always was a muscle head... Started when my father purchased a new 82 MSE Trans-AM (Number 4, his friend had #1). Father tracked it (autocross).... guess since it grew on me I had to do the same. While in the military I bought a used 86 IROC Z/28 and modded it, new suspension, motor work, rear end etc. was a beast, but tisk like all 80's cars... they needs lots of work after 100k miles. Purchased an 02 SS the last year they made them, got screwed by the dealership because they had some options not generally on the "sheet" that year, different gearing etc. So it arrived not how I spec'd it, had to take it since we flew from Tx to Wi and was driving it to DC for a an award my wife was getting. I will never buy from the Chevy dealer in Beloit Wi ever again....... Wife decided to quit her job and I had to relinquish my Camaro... I eventually got a 09 CTS-V, baller muscle car.... and I tracked it (road course) here in Texas. Man there we a lot of stares... WTF!!! a sedan eating sports cars lunches... I once did a chase the leader, me in a CTS-v and the other guy in a R8, split lap, 1 min 20 sec head start and each had to "catch-up" to the other..... no passing. Needless to say I caught him, one side of me thinks I was a better driver....the other other side of me thinks he didn't want to "bend" his car so was more cautious on the course... either way I had great track times for a 4-door.

Wife decides to quit her job (again).... I had to give up the V.... best car I ever had....

Now that the wife has a good job again she says I can have my "car", the new CTS-V is like super car price now.... I configured it and it's 98K+

So I'm back to my old fallback the second best car I've ever had... a camaro

Going all out... 2SS, MRC, NPP, Brake upgrade. I hope the filaments get released soon because I want to order my new 285/305 track shoes for the next season!!!!

I have loved the Camaro for all my life!! My dad had a 73 Charger and my mom had a 68 Firebird during my younger childhood. My uncles had nice cars too. One had a 82 Camaro that I loved!! By the time I could afford a decent sports car the Camaro had been discontinued and GM was looking like it was going to fold. So I bought a 2003 350Z Touring. A great car but not the muscle car I always dreamed of owning. Then came the 5th Gen and my kids were getting out of the house so I happily bought my very first Camaro.. Two years later I bought a second.. So I have to continue this dream!!

Why is that? A 17 year old who had saved his money since before he can remember is allowed to buy his first car.

I was obsessed with the Camaro when it was reintroduced at the NAIAS as the 5th gen, I had to have it! I saved and worked harder than ever at work, even obtained a promotion and bought a house in the process. It was also my first brand new car, 2010 2SS ABM loaded.

Fast forward 6 years and now that drive and obsession is back with the 6th gen. I sold my 2010 a week after the reveal of the new 6th gen and I am patiently waiting for TPW on my 2016 2SS Hyper blue loaded.

People I know keep on telling me to just buy a vette, sorry but the Camaro is my choice.

My story starts as a 15 year old kid riding around in my sisters 1981 white Camaro, man those louvers on the back window were the stuff of my dreams. Flash forward to my early 20's and working with my father who has been an owner operator of a auto repair shop and small used car lot forever. I was standing at a local car auction and rolling past me was a 1981 white Camaro with 20K on the clock and them louvers in the window. My head didn't top nodding till the auctioneer said you bought it. Then came the family and and the 4 door sedans. At least they had GTP badges but still I longed for the days. I drove past my local dealer in 2011 and sitting on the front line was a Synergy Green love of my life. I did a u-turn and left the GTP for the next guy and drove my baby away. Now I sit here day after day waiting for for my test drive and to shake the salesman's hand when they hands me the keys of my new 2SS. It will kill me to leave my green machine behind, but I know somewhere some 20 something kid will be ready for his first Camaro and hopefully he will get to live out his dreams and have as much fun in it as I have.

It really isn't about the rush of acceleration as the turbo 4 Camaro has as much horsepower as the old LT1 Camaro (275BHP). It really is about the whole experience, when you turn the key and you hear something serious fire up. When the car is moved just by the idling of such an engine, when you step on it and you hear anger coming from the exhaust. You can get over 400BHP from the turbo 4 Camaro, in fact you can probably push that beast to 600BHP... however you don't get the experience.

The experience is for example why people will spend big bucks to buy an unreliable and expensive to maintain Ferrari with a V-12 engine that you will drive 1,000 miles a year. It isn't about having cargo volume....

Great stories everyone. Mine started right after high school where I bought my first used car, 1985 Camaro with a 2.8 MPFI for college. The year was 1995, and it only cost me $2,000 plus some much needed TLC. I used it for all 4 years of college and finally got a full time job and got me my current 2000 Camaro with a 3.8 v6. Couldn't afford a z28 at the time and that being the only option for v8 I went with the v6. Two years later the announcement of production ending broke my heart. I was never going to get the v8 I always wanted. Of course I could have gotten a used one, but I wanted to be the owner of a new one. Five years later I got my 2005 Silverado Crew Cab. Feeling the power of that v8 made me wonder how that power would feel in a Camaro. The feeling quickly left knowing that Camaros were no longer being made. Time went by and I purchase a house and of course new furniture and appliances. 2009 comes around and the announcement of the Camaro coming back brought excitement once again. I kept up with all the threads and thought to myself, finally going to get the car I always wanted, but my current finances didn't allow that to happen. So I sat back and watched everyone else enjoy their cars. I tried as hard as I could to payoff stuff to get my car, but it wasn't happening. Now, all is paid and I can finally get the car I always wanted with a v8 and a lot of technology. I can't wait for my 2016 Camaro 2SS. My 2000 Camaro will now get to rest after 15 great years!

I defiantly plan on getting the 2SS. My story started in high school in 2000 when I got my first car, a '94 camaro. It was the 3.4, , but it was a camaro and it is the reason why I love camaros so much. I am no mechanic but that car, google, and youtube taught me everything i currently know about cars and fixing/maintaining them.

Fast forward to this year, and I was setting up plans to buy the '16 next year after getting some debt paid down.....too bad at 267,000 (got it at 99,000) the thrust bearing decided I should get a new car sooner, I'll be picking up a '15 1LS tomorrow. Now the plan is get this one paid off, keep it in excellent condition and trade it in toward my next camaro...which will be a V8, nothing wrong with the v6, but its time for daddy to upgrade

No I wont be getting a 2016....late 2017 mid 2018 yes. I want to see some bugs worked out of the car and see how they improve over 2 years....look at 2010 vs 2012 basic SS VS 1LE. HUGE IMPROVEMENT ...ill be patient and if im impatient I may just jump the gun and buy the 2.0T and do simple bolt ons and tune...if a Cobalt SS/TC made 260-290 with basic tuning. ..and there are many daily driven stock psi LNF cobalts running 300 hp I would be happy with a 3400-3500lb camaro making 300-350 hp
