You bet. I priced mines out to $40,330. I priced a 2015 to the same MSRP and my supplier discount dropped it to around $37,000. I might wait till the Model year end

Just for fun I priced a 2015 2LT Camaro out to $40,000, honestly I would rather pay $40,000 for a 2016 Camaro then a 2015 Camaro....

Special Discounts

I'm not trying to act jealous or envious, but maybe those few members who are lucky enough to qualify for GM/Supplier discounts that 98% don't qualify for can brag on their very own thread. Just a thought.

I agree completely and given the power/weight ratio I think the v6 will be a great combination. But, the pricing puts the 2LT right alongside the BMW/Mercedes entry level offerings. That's pushing prices quite high. Perhaps Chevy is placing themselves right into this luxury/sports sedan category on purpose.

Suppose I could get into the camaro at my desired price point but, it will be a rental car option level. Yuck.

Anyone want to try to option a $34,000 camaro with a v6 that is desireable?

That thought has crossed my mind but I also have directed to possible alternatives so I am also guilty. But I do agree with your thinking.

If you start with a 2LT, with only a few options you get there quickly. Ouch.

Before I decided on getting an 1SS (which I made that decision when I found out I would be getting at invoice with CU credit on top of that) I thought I might just go for a loaded 2LT V6 with auto and NPP to save myself 3 or 4 grand over a decently optioned 1SS.

But I just built up one and came out nearly $39,500. The big ticket item is the $2,800 ZN2 package, but that has all the really cool interior stuff I would have wanted in my V6, (basically I REALLY wanted the 8" driver screen and HUD. Sad that my 1SS won't have HUD, but the 8" driver screen that it does have is cool enough for me alone lol) Otherwise, the other options are V6 engine, automatic, RS package, and NPP. Even at $36,630, without the ZN2 package, its still a hair more than I thought a loaded 2LT V6 would go for.

Used ATS is cheap.. Just remember, you're not getting the new v6 or 8 speed auto with the used ATS. I'm rather impressed by the 6 speed auro in my brother's 2006 SRX though.

Precisely what I have been attempting to get at.

2LT with the lighting convienence package and the V6 per becky's pricing with NO other options & excluding destination charge = $34,095.

I was aiming at $32,000 for a good looking v6 camaro with some look good parts and a few goodies.

I bet quite a few of the desireable options won't be available on the 1LT. Just like the V6 mustang - try as I might I couldn't push the v6 mustang past $30k. Pretty funny because there is no way in hell I'd buy a $36k 4 cyl car.

I do think the camaro is the better car for sure, i just cant afford the probably $10k extra
You are comparing promotional pricing with msrp of a car not on sale yet? What value is that? Look at that $40k msrp on the mustang then decide the value for whats included.

I can't imagine Chevy being able to sell many V6 Gen 6 Camaros for 35k or more like some of them will be but I witness a ton of stupidity everyday. Clearly the SS's are a better deal for the money.

I know some people can get better deals but not all of us can and if you want to buy one of the two cars now instead of waiting until mid next year for dealers to offer discounts, I think it's a fair comparison
If you have a time issue and price limit, then thats fine. But you are also buying a year older car when we have no concrete performance specs for the 6th gen. I'd tell anyone to wait and see how it actually performs. The difference in performance could be more than worth the price.

I agree with you SS and the performance numbers hopefully will save Chevy otherwise; Chevy might have some trouble selling Camaros if the performance numbers don't match or exceed expectations. I expect it to beat the Mustang in every performance category and if it doesn't Chevy might be in trouble with Camaro sales. Does everybody else think the new SS's will beat the Gt's in the performance categories or I'm I being unreasonable with my expectations?

Sounds jealous & envious. This thread is for everyone so long as it fits the topic.
