Looks like I'm going after a "base" 2ss.. Any other mods, or anything will have to come in the future. Already going to be stretching myself a bit with what i think the pricing will be... Hopefully it sounds great stock.. Either an exhaust or some awesome rims will be my go to mod.

Will the 2SS be subject to the gas guzzler tax?

I did Xplan price a vert, and it was $5,000 cheaper than what I'm expecting a 2SS 'vert to be... versus MSRP (this could be a key point)... Now, if I can get a the Chevy at +3% over invoice like the Ford, then I'll probably still buy it. I wanted to be around 45k, but 50k is my ceiling. The Mustang I configured was sitting at $43,500 nicely options, add $1k for Borla's, and I'd be very happy with it. I'd be willing to pay more for the Chevy, how much? Depends on how much better I think the 2SS is than the Prem GT. I'm that guy that isn't brand loyal and is looking for something that tickles my fancy in my budget. I'm here obviously because I really want a 2SS 'vert, and is my leading choice, but I've got to be a realist. Just a note $48,695 for a GT350 is pretty tempting, too. I'd be willing to sacrifice the drop top for the FPC V8 noise... nasty.

Stripped out... with Recaro seats, AC, power windows, a spot to plug in my phone, 6 speaker Sync radio w/ input... Stripped out has a meaning that is a lot different now than when I was a kid ![]() People saying that Chevy dealers going to mark up new Camaro's too. Don't apply that logic to just one brand because it makes your position look 'more right'.

Save your money ,never buy a first year car, wait until the hoop-la dies down, ford spouted about how the mustang's are flying off the lots, yea sure ,now there offering rebates ,HA-HA, if you can keep your money in your pocket for now , the economy is set to take another giant dump soon, and dealers will be begging you to buy there cars .

Personally, I'm hoping for a C7 style competition seat, rather than a Recaro.

Uhh, all Mustangs high sales months were before all the heavy discounts you've been seeing this past month or two. The summer month sales have been significantly less than earlier in the year. Anyhow, I got my almost fully loaded GT for about 37k OTD (not the average price that's for sure but I was able to get a good deal, MSRP was 41k I think, maybe a little more). There were a couple options I didn't want due to the increase in price, BLIS, ACC and "better" speakers. Cost wasn't worth it to me, IMO GM screwed the pooch on not allowing some of these more lux items as options instead of being required. No way I could even consider getting a Camaro over a mustang at the current price points. Aside from Camaro's potential better performance, the HUD is the only thing I want that the Mustang doesn't have. Acceleration will sure be better, and track prowess has a good chance of being better than my car, however I don't expect the weight to be much different than the GT. On that point, we'll just have to wait and see what the new Camaro will weigh in at once customers get their hands on it. But more about price, without accounting for Xplan....if you are performance minded, you can get a Base GT add some real nice C/O's and sticky tires and probably whoop a lot cars for the cost of a base SS. Granted that's not a lot of buyers but for those with a track mind that is something to consider. I think 35k would have been an ideal price point for the base SS, sure I'd want it lower but its always been a little more than the GT. On a side note I really love the 1LE/ZL1 wheels lol, they are amazingly concave they honestly almost make me want a camaro haha
