We all know that a 2LT V6 is going to cost at least 30K. Maybe a bit more? Before I decided on a 1SS I was really leaning towards a loaded 2LT V6, with the configurable display, NPP, and automatic.

I'm betting that will push 34 or 35 grand.
The 2016 Honda Accord Touring coupe with sensing package will sticker for $34,945. While at first glance people will look at me like I had a third ear growing out of my nose for comparing a Honda Accord to a Chevy Camaro, considering I own a V6 6 speed manual Accord coupe now, and I am a Camaro fan as well, the cars are more similar and within each other's wheel houses more so than meets the eye. 2 door sporty coupes with V6 engines.

So yes, you can bet a loaded 2LT V6 will be right exactly where you suggested, 34-35k. And a 2LT V6 is equipped EXACTLY like a 2016 Accord V6 Touring coupe with sensing package. Navi, park assist, lane watch, backup camera, radar cruise are all part of the touring/sensing package for Accord.

Although I have alot of concerns over the motor. I would say the 6 gen is Camaro has a pretty sound foundation to work from.
There were a LOT of 5.0 failures out the gate.

Sounds like Gm identified the issue and corrected it. Out if spec bearings and oil filter thread machining.

This reminds me a lot of the xbox one vs ps4... Xbox one had more packed into it but with a premium price over ps4 and look how that turned out. In general most people don't care about or even know about the added goodies in the Camaro over the mustang. They simply look at price point.

It won't be long before Chevy lowers the Camaro price because the sales won't be where they expected them to be.

Not all that bad when you consider how much else is standard.
I don't know the numbers for sure, but I would guess an overwhelming majority of all 5th gen SS models, from 2010-15, were ordered with the RS package. I have seen very few 1SS or 2SS without RS. In fact I think I may have seen only one in the entire 5 year run of it. So it makes sense for GM to make it standard on all SS models.

Yeah I was sad to see this. Didn't all 10-15 autos have a LSD?

That's probably without X-Plan. If you ever plan on buying a Mustang, you just sign up for the Mustang Club of America ($50/year I think), and you are eligible for X-Plan which is essentially invoice price.

I was really hoping for something similar with Chevy, but I wasn't able to find anything similar that was as easy to get into.

But the PS4 is more powerful and a better system at a lower price.. Not the case with Camaro and Mustang.

I agree. I don't think the sales will be through the roof. I will have to wait and test drive and then see if the $37k is worth it for a 1SS

It will be very interesting to see the final weight, and the comparisons late this fall.

Ford excels on the strategic side of building affordable cars. It has alot to do with why the Mustang is still all steel, furthermore Ford generally does a notable amount carryover power trains options to lessen new capital investment and ease the price on new models.

We have a new Camaro, and two new powertrains it does cost money.
Sorry all engines in the 6th gen are in other GM vehicles too. The Mustang if anything usually has less carryover than the Camaro.

I think a lot of this extra cost for the SS, isn't necessarily new features but the methods used to save weight and not water down the powertrain options. Once we see performance numbers I am betting a lot of people will change their tune. After all everyone considers the Scat Pack cars a steal @ $39k. How big a steal will the 1SS be when it outruns the Scat Pack and significantly out handles a GT PP (speculation of course)? Remember, the GT is not the cheapest V8 pony car, the RTs have that and exactly how has it helped them outsell their competition? I think everyone agrees the GT and SS cars are much better value than the RT.

If you take there numbers and estimate options from previous models a fully loaded 2ss convertible might be close to the same price as a 2016 base Vette, rather have the vette. And a GT350 that comes fully loaded, is $47,000. Does this make sense to anyone?? Not to mention the Shelby name itself will guarantee the resale of that car will remain high, better investment.
(Disclaimer I do not think a car is an investment)Not unless there 60 years old, Just for discussion parameters.
