Note: There may be a difference between a dealer being able to PLACE an order and a dealer that has an allocation so GM would ACCEPT the order.
Quite often on new cars, each dealer is allocated by GM a certain number of orders for each model for a 6 month period. For example your local dealer may only get allocations for 3 2016 SS convertibles for the next 6 months. This would mean that your dealer could PLACE orders for as many 2016 SS convertibles as they wanted, but only 3 of those orders would get ACCEPTED and fulfilled by GM. All the other orders would just sit in the GM ordering que until that dealer gets more allocations. When in doubt, call BeckyD.
