The 6 digit number letter combo is your order tracking number. 2000 means your order was successfully submitted to GM.

I ordered my car July 28 and it says 1100 status. It's been over 2 weeks now and hasn't changed to 2000 status... is that normal?

Very Some dealers have had allocations to match against orders but not all and it could be a few weeks before the next consensus. I am sure by the time productions starts every dealer will have been able to use at least one allocation This is not a Corvette with production designed for 30K per year (I know they are hitting 37K but only with tons of overtime) but a Camaro going for 100K+ AND there are not a half dozen dealers getting 10-20% of the allocations.

From what I saw, it appears that a great deal of the productivity is driven by metrics. Everywhere you look there is a board with productivity metrics telling the workers what their performance is and where their trend is going. Based on the hurried driving of the forklift operators, I'd say that it has the desired effect!

So things are normal but for a long time ten hour days and some Sat. In addition the two week summer break. So when they were making 37K it took tons of OT.
Those boards are fascinating, aren't they? Laborsmith |

![]() I absolutely love the metric boards. The CompSci part of me looks at them and just giggles with glee at how razor-fine their process is to collect such useful data and how effective they are at driving human behavior. I've done enough of such things to know that getting that good at it isn't easy!

Bowling Green works one shift for assembly and two shifts for body and paint each work day. It is a five day work week, eight hours a day. Some GM Assembly Plants are four ten hour days for a work week.

I was responding to V6CamaroRS regarding plant work schedules.
My bad, I should have made that more clear. Laborsmith |

Man, if these things aren't gonna start showing up until November or so, I might as well just wait a few months and order it for the spring...

GM has been saying late fall availability, even in their official releases since before reveal. That could mean as late as December.

Allocations are distributed based on past performance and directly keyed model to model. So a dealer who delivered 1000 Silverados and 10 Camaros last model year will get an initial allocation of 500 Silverados and 5 Camaros over the first five or six months and at a minimum an equal number for the next several months.
