Order Submitted with a Production Date Included (Stage #2 Complete)
I just got back from my dealer and wanted to clarify any confusion that might be going on.
1.) GM has either started to or is in the process of dishing out allocation to dealerships. 2.) Dealerships who have allocation are able to submit orders to the allocation they have. Orders can go in now, they do not have to wait until Tuesday. (This is fact as I have seen it done for my order) Image below for proof. 3.) Target production dates are being assigned. It could be a temp date or a real date, but my order has been given a time frame for production. 9/7 - 9/13 which is 3 weeks out from today. (Again, as seen in my order confirmation below) 4.) Pricing has not been confirmed. My dealer called their GM contacts and verified the pricing has not been made public at this time. Good luck to everyone else chasing their orders. I know I am beyond anxious, but my dealer has been amazing thus far. SoCal Paradise Chevrolet in Temecula.

If that's the production date, then people should definitely be getting theirs in November, right?

If it's in the batch of first run cars, it can take almost 6 weeks to go through GM's inspections. But with that in mind. November is looking good.

This is going to be very interesting for me. For years I have thought there are multiple servers, one all dealers can see, that is the one Becky and Chevy Chat uses. Another that only the ordering dealer can see, which operates in "real" time. So my thinking is your 2000 will not show up as such on the Master Server until Wednesday after the completion of the DSOP but if I am wrong, we could very well know tomorrow or Saturday.
Thanks for giving me this opportunity to clarify this part of the ordering process. Laborsmith |

If that TPP holds, and at this point in time it usually does not, although I had one pre-order whose TPP turned into the TPW and it was assembled on the last day of the TPW.
So it can hold but on a new vehicle line or new generation vehicle line it usually slips. I still expect an early October start, say October 12. Quality Check Hold at the start of regular production is always three weeks, never less and sometimes more. When it is more, such as the above mentioned six weeks, it is more because something needed correcting. If as long as six weeks, that something(s) was significant, but GM never admits the reason even when we in buyer land figure it out. Laborsmith Laborsmith |

I know the feeling. I just want to let people know a TPP is not a TPW.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing! I am the first at my dealership too! Congrats to you.
That target production date is surprising...a good few weeks earlier than I was expecting. Hopefully it holds, but I won't be disappointed if it doesn't. If it does, I don't see any reason why we couldn't have these cars by mid November unless there is a long quality hold.

Thanks for the update. I am expecting pricing is closer than we think and I have a feeling it will hit Saturday but I am probably wrong. After reading some posts on here and talking with my dealer yesterday I feel confident dealers know prices. I say this as multiple times over the past month my sales guy ( we have bought 6 cars from) wouldn't even speculate on what kind of increase it would be. When I placed the order told him my budget he was happy to run numbers (he said was speculation) and confirmed I should be fine with 2ss.

Hell yea. Just got off the phone with my dealer. He said the order for my Camaro 2SS was placed today. I can pick up a copy of it tomorrow morning. As a matter of fact, it was the dealer's first order for the new Camaro. My Camaro. He figured 6 weeks, maybe less.
Right on! |
