Dual Mode Exhaust Question

For previous models (Camaro5/C7 Corvette) that had dual mode exhaust systems, are there aftermarket performance exhausts that allowed you to retain this feature with the factory interface/buttons?

Or do you just just kiss it good bye when you go aftermarket for the most part? I know at some point I would like to do some modifying and that the exhaust could become a restriction. It would be cool to still have this option and just wanted to know if there was some companies doing it now. it might help me to make the decision on this option to take it or not. Kind of new to the Camaro world so I'm not that familiar with the aftermarket.

Thanks!

I know borla makes a few kits for the c7 corvette. Not sure about f-body though. I also know they are pricey!!

My opinion, but if you are planning to swap the stock muffler for something else, don't go with NPP. Just save the money up front. In my case, I like the sound of the NPP, and I like that it is tunable. If it wasn't tunable, I'm not sure that I'd go for it.

What if the person want the quad tips though? Doesn't it come with a different diffuser?

Speaking from a 5th gen Camaro, I got the NPP because of a combination of things. The exhaust was developed for the ZL1 originally. So if it was good enough for that, ok. Then it became an option for manual cars only and used on the Z28 as well. I thought the exhaust sounded pretty good. Then the way it looked, I had to have it on my car. You also get a different rear diffuser to make room for the tips. Best factory exhaust that I have ever had with sound and looks!

You can bet the aftermarket will be big on the Camaro, so you will have other options, just might cost more $.

I like the fact that you can tune the NPP exhaust and it sounds good and it's factory. Usually I would get aftermarket but this time I will go with the dual mode.

Tunable meaning the settings they give you, like tour/sport/track or you can mess with it somehow beyond what they give you? Obviously you can change stuff in front of the rear section/muffler.

Oh all new Camaro SS don't have quad tips? Is the dual mode system the only quad tip and with wide enough diffuser cut out to accommodate that?

Only the dual mode exhaust setup comes with the quad tips.

Oh damn I didn't realize that, thanks!

So the difference in the diffuser is just the width of the cut out to accommodate the tips I'm guessing right? Otherwise it looks the same?

I want to say in all the photos I've seen, I've only see quad tips that why I was under that impression....

I believe it is the same, just wider width to fit the quad tips.

Don't worry about it. Im sure the NPP will satisfy you.besides there is no way you can tune the sound of an aftermarket exhaust automatically.
