2016 CTS-V

Don't see a "General Discussions" section (maybe I'm blind), so I'll post here.

60 in 3.5 seconds and does a quarter-mile in 11.6 at 126.1 mph. It's about a 100 pounds lighter than previous V (I thought all cars are just getting heavier. )

Should be good things for a lighter ZL1 Camaro equipped with the same engine.

Nice. I've been waiting anxiously for these reviews to come out. Impressive and suggests a bright future for the Alpha Camaro

Good to hear no over heating issues, sounds like they beat the piss out of them too. Suspect the extra room in the bay is responsible. Bodes well for a lt4 Camaro.

Without any modifications or special procedures, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V hammered the track at these triple-digit speeds, three or four hot laps at a time, until the tank was empty. Gas card at the ready, Team Cadillac refilled it, and we drained it again in about 20 laps.

Think it will be a much nicer car to live in and drive, but Hellcat is definitely faster.

However, 4100lbs and 640hp equals high 11s for the mags, what would that mean for a 3700-3800lb ZL1? Definitely interesting.

I'd say it would mean that a 3700-3800 pound ZL1 is not possible. I'd be more inclined to believe around 3,900 or a bit higher.

I would think 39xx for the ZL1 with this powertrain. I bet it uses the tri-y headers too, so it will be back up to at least 650/650. Would be very weird if the SS had headers and the ZL1 had manifolds.

Also sounds like there were no heat issues. That must be a Stingray /c7 packaging thing.

I would agree, if we do get a Z/28 car too. Otherwise making the ZL1 (or LT4 Camaro) weigh more without doing anything to cut weight down compared to the SS would be major missed opportunity. If Ford can cut 100lbs+ off the GT for the GT350R, then you would think the Camaro Team could lose most of the weight of going to the LT4. Now if we do get a Z/28, then yea save all the weight reduction for that car to keep the ZL1 price down.

Since the ZL1 will be lighter than the caddy. The ZL1 and hellcat comparo will be very close

Yeah, but the base GT350 is heavier than the GT with PP. They pulled even the rear seats from the R and have super light wheels.

All weights I have seen for a GT PP have been in the 3800lb range (course they were all Premiums I believe) but based on the 130lb reduction for the GT350R over the GT350...the base 350 would be the same weight if not lighter than a GT PP.

Again if we only have one Z car, I would believe Chevy would offer similar treatment as the GT350R gets.
